Had a quick trip to Oahu for a couple weeks with the Famola.
Honolulu is great and the island is definitely worth a look around.
Didn't do too many tours but spent time driving the island.
Attractions visited include:
- Diamond Head climb
- Hanuma Bay
- Ala Monana Mall
- North Shore during the big waves
- Dole Plantation
- Pearl Harbor
- Bottom fishing tour
- Waikiki Beach
- The Ferrari/Lotus/Lamborghini/Maserati dealership.
-Lots and lots of driving (380 miles on a island only 40 miles across!)

Looks like heaven there Riley -- Guess you heard of all the crappy, cold weather we got while you were away?

Hoping you got some pics of your travels as well as those expensive cars you saw....

Welcome back -- Things went smoothly here -- even Wayne behaved himself. :D

Just wondering what happened to all my pictures......

I'll post again when I get home. Just about to go talk to the boss.

There wasn't too much news on the weather while I was in Hawaii. I just heard about Saskatoon having a few days above zero with winds of up to 100 km/h one of the days.

I saw your thread on the snow you guys got, that is insane!!!! And apparently Hawaii had it's coldest weather in years while we were there, getting into the 50's at night....although I didn't really notice. :D It still managed to hit 68-75 during the days.

Waves at Ka'ena point, just west of the North Shore. Just a couple pics showing how much the surf moves. I was standing on a 4 foot volcanic rock ledge with this photo.

Sorry for the crappy clarity with the phone camera but this is what we found with the North Shore. The ocean was ANGRY! A storm was blowing in the biggest waves they've had in 10 years but it was too windy and chaotic for the surfers, they had to wait a day for things to settle down apparently. This Photo was taken showing 30-40 foot waves although it's hard to tell from a picture.

And now the best view in Hawaii as far as I am concerned taken from the Waimanalo Beach Park lookout

And just a little ways down the highway.

Went to the Dole Plantation and took a ride on their train and did the worlds largest maze!

And I'll end it off with a Sunset...actually not too many of these seen during our trip!

LOL, I wondered where my first answer went -- until I noticed you have 2 threads going.....no worries.

Love that Steam locomotive from the Plantation. -- of course all the sights are fabulous.....bet you hated to come home.

Great to have you home Riley. That really does look like paradise. :D

Are you trying to make us feel bad? It worked.

Looks like you had a great vacation, lovely site.

Welcome home.

What great pics! I'm super jealous right now! Especially with what Mother Nature has been dealing us lately. Looks absolutely beautiful.

Great pics Riley. Brings back a lot of memories for me.

I bet the next trip is being planned now............seems like most people cant resist after their first taste.

beautiful place, nice picture. did you go to the arizona memorial at pearl harbour ?

I did go to the Arizona memorial. Sort of surreal going to Pearl Harbor standing in the very same place that this event happened. It was windy the day we went so there wasn't really too much of the Arizona to see, just the few pieces sticking up out of the water.

One thing I was quite surprised at with Hawaii was all the military presence and offers of discounts at a lot of places for people in the military.

Great pics Riley. Brings back a lot of memories for me.

It was good having a talk with you about Hawaii before leaving although it's too bad I couldn't take you up on most of your advice.

I would like to go back, but not to Oahu again. I really want to try out the other islands. First would be Maui, then the Big Island for some volcano action. I've very glad I went to Oahu and would recommend it, but I think a person would only really need 5-6 days to see everything and the rest of the time could be spent on sandy beaches on the other islands which I hear are more laid back.

Looks absolutely beautiful there. I haven't had to pleasure yet but will some day.

I have a friend who I went to school with who now lives there after seeing it for his first time.

Thanks for sharing Riley.

Glad you didn't have to bust any skulls. :D

You know, I didn't see any Corvettes until probably the 5th or 6th day I was there. Not too many Corvettes on the island I guess and only saw one Ferrari!
If I had to guess, I would think I saw maybe 10 Corvettes in two weeks. Now, if you like Mustangs, I must have seen probably 1000 convertibles and 2-3 GT500's the whole time I was there. There were actually so many Mustangs it actually became comical.

I'm surprised the pics are so washed out but that's what I get for using a phone!

Anyway, onto the sweet cars I saw while I visited the JN Exotics Dealership.
The Lady was extremely nice there and said we could sit in any of the cars. I picked the Gallardo though because I was so shocked to see a Lambo with a stick! I thought they stopped making anything manual and I guess this is that last year they are making the Gallardo. Great car, but I was surprised at 5'11" my head touched the roof.

However, if I had to choose, I think I would go with an Aventador

However, after being at Waikiki in the Ferrari store I think I would have to go with a Ferrari. What nice cars. Here is one of the California's that they had. They also had a F355, 458, F430 and FF to check out. I asked if they had a LaFerrari coming and apparently they have one on order and are just waiting for an allocation. How awesome.

Wow, what beautiful rides.....sheer sex on wheels.

I've always loved Lambo's and wear I to win a lottery I'd have one. Nice to dream.:D

Hawaii is definitely on my to-do list.

Great pics Riley -- looks like you had a wonderful time.
