Does anyone here know if there is a mounting plate under the console that will mount either an automatic or a 4+3.
The 85 vette i bought last year was switched from a 4+3 to an automatic and the installer left the standard shifter in it.
I bought the automatic shifter and console and shifter boot and knob but i need to install it this spring when i get the car out of hibernation.
Any guesses??

Not nice.:Nono1:

Hey thanks for getting back to me.
What we found under the car was that the mechanic or tranny guy hooked up one the gear links to the auto tranny shifter linkage.
It works great but, i was just trying to get the automatic shifter in place. (park lock, neutral to reverse lock etc...)
what we found when we pulled off the console was that there was no way to mount the shifter without changing the whole
shifter mounting area of the floor tube.
We were able to change the console to the Auto console that i bought used and also use the shift boot off the automatic shifter.
We also wired the reverse lights to the unusable O/D switch.
The shifter now at least looks right except that there is no p, r, n etc.. indicator.
The car runs great and now looks right.
I will try to get some pics tonite.
Only paid $4,500. for the car certified so.....
Anyways thanks again
Glen
