Anyone local with Borla S-Type exhaust?

Would like to hear it in person before pulling the trigger on $6k.

If you are local to the GTA (preferably Durham but okay otherwise), and willing to me for a few minutes, please let me know
You probably have seen this already but here it is just incase. Not in person but may give you an idea compared to a few others . I have an appointment with Davenport for the Corsa extreme one . and yes they are a bit far away for you.
Test drive starts around 6:30.....

You can try to attend many corvette shows and cruise night in the GTA and surrounding area.
I have seen one with the Niagara Corvette Club last year.
Check with DenisC8 cruises where many C8 owners attend.
I think the first meet is with the CWO London Corvette Club in London. Some time in May I believe.
I think Duram/surrounding aera has a Corvette Club as well.

Yea I go to meets and haven't seen one yet. West Ontario meet last year didn't have any. Some guys at Denise's cruises last year had Corsa and hooker but no borla s
If you don't mind me asking what has made you consider Borla not having had a chance to hear one yet ? In choosing Corsa I'm just going by comparison videos, through a very good sound system though, but still not like the real thing as you point out. And reviews as well.

I get the sense from reviews that Borla has a lower/deeper sound, better anti-drone technology, and better range for NPP valves
Interesting as I found the same thing regarding the Corsa Extreme, lol. Like you say you would have to hear them and go for a drive, windows up then down, valves open and closed etc. Speaking of NPP valves they are " binary " , either fully open or in the closed position.

I believe I mentioned that part..........
"Not in person but may give you an idea compared to a few others ".
You sure did amigo ..... It will never be the same as in person ... however the vid will give you some idea of the sound ... especially to compare ..;)

And yea .... you mentioned that too !

Honestly the biggest headache is finding a reputable local seller with a decent price point. I can order from American sellers or borla directly and have it shipped over to Buffalo. That's option one. I found a few authorized Canadian retailers that actually end up at a lower price point after currency conversion and hassle of going over the boarder, but they all have bad reviews and terrible BBB ratings. Buying expensive parts from Canada sucks

Here are a few retailers that I had bought parts from. No particular order.

By the Airport.

Why do you want to cross the border when these guys can bring them into the GTA for a reasonable fees. imo.

Because I don't want to pay someone to over the boarder and get something for me. It only takes me an hour drive. Why would I want to introduce another middle man who wants his cut?

Thanks for the tips. I checked those out and they're prices arently really competative. about $1000 more than I've found elsewhere

If you are close to the border and can spare time to do so, it is all good.
Time is what I don't want to waste, the hassle of going into the Canadian Custom office to declare and pay taxes for my purchases, and on gas money. Not too bad now that we have less traffic at the border into the US.
Not taking chances of not declaring my purchases.

Happy shopping.

$145 cad option with the Corsa but free installation. That is for the area behind the exhaust tips . Is that the heat shielding you are referring to ?
No. the whole exhaust. The Mufflers. Similar to the stock piece. All the C8 Borlas has this cover/shield.

As in....the first one is the oem c8 performance exhaust which has similar second one is the Borla . I wonder could the oem one be transfered to the Corsa . No idea how its attached. Not something I thought of when speaking with Davenport but should have . They did offer to replace the small ones behind the exhaust tips with new black ones rated for 1750 degrees but made no mention of the x-pipe and mufflers . I will be calling and inquiring. Certainly something you should have. Or not , have to look into it. None of the exhaust piping is in contact with anything so is it really necessary ?
