P, the main issue is to NOT have to get your factory painted car repainted so it's original. A fully wrapped car would cost about the same as a repaint of an entire vehicle but your probably referring to a front bumper and then your into paint matching. What in your experience is the cost of a factory quality repaint vs PPF repair/replacement every few years ? On the face of it, it would seem to be no contest.
A front end wrapped car with a track package would cost more than just painting a front bumper. What happened in my case is that I was it by a largish rock that made two gouges in my drivers side front quarter panel ppf just behind the bumper joint below the headlight. The ppf saved rock chips in the quarter panel paint but left a raised rough surface from the impact. Of course every time you walk by the car you see it, so yesterday being a dry sunny but cooler day, I made an early appointment and took it over to the shop that sponsors my Corvette club. I was given a deal on replacing the ppf covering that quarter which was $200 as it couldn't be repaired or touched up to hide it. To answer your question what I paid yesterday cost less than half of what repainting the quarter would have cost. Now no worry about paint matching and I still have the factory paint.
While the car was there I also had the inside windshield Llumar Formula 1 Pinnacle ceramic tint installed to protect the leather dash, giving heat and
99% UV protection and also reduces glare.
Last year I had the new Ultra fit Windcrest EVO exterior windshield clear film put on which has saved my windshield a couple of times already.
Being my 9th Corvette, this one I don't want to mess with the paint. After spending hundreds of hours, wet sanding, hand and high speed polishing, touching up rock chips, getting rid of orange peel and repeating mostly on Torch Red painted cars was simple compared to this tricoat colour. It can't be matched perfectly, hence the protection.
