Snow has been a plague of biblical proportions here in Newfoundland when we had a railway. It was cheaper to cut through an area called the Gaff Topsails but the price was dealing with the snow.

A much better description than I could ever write can be found at this link. I would suspect that quite a few areas in Canada suffered from similar conditions.

Thought I had seen this picture of the Nickel Plate Road and the 58 Chev before...found it way back on page 30 #596 to be exact but it was not the same one as it turns out. Guess the guys at NPR liked 58 Chevrolets...

Need some help with this one, thought it would be obvious what the Rail Road was but I cannot find VR from the 1950"s...

The VR logo is surprisingly similar to the Erie Rail Road Logo but I cannot find any connection...
