Anyone Else Fascinated By Old Locomotives?

One of the best bosses I ever had, Al Thain, was with Champion Road Graders. He was telling me a story of how they were getting turbocharger failures on their graders. Did not take him long to see a pattern that all the failures happened on rail shipments. What he discovered was when the machine was backed onto a flat car the wind would spin the turbo backwards with no lubrication. Fixed that.

@1 BAD 9T9, you might know Al's son in law, Bill Denny from St. Thomas, Ontario. He ran an altered for years but now races a super modified. He has a paint and body shop in St.Thomas.

Hey Murray, I am sure others have old railroad stories that they can share here.

Sorry I do not know Bill Denny - likely after my time.
