Does anyone have an idea how to install a quick disconnect side post battery terminal on an '86 Vette. It's like there's no room! What am I doing wrong?

No good pics but my install was pretty straight forward. I put it on the negative cable but I don’t think it really matters which side it gets installed on.

Tried to install it last fall before I put the car away for the winter. Just left car now with battery ground disconnected. Problem is, the clearance between the battery and the wheel tub is minimal, so how do you install this piece in a cramped spot (sidepost)and then have any room to reach in and turn the green knob to connect or disconnect the battery?
I'll try again in the spring. I think I tried this position, and thought about how the hell can I get my hand in there to properly loosen or tighten the thumbwheel.
I’m not sure why you mean by “get your hand in there” I just raise the hood and turn the little black wheel with my thumb and index finger
Was also thinking about putting a racing "kill switch" somewhere convienient. Thanx for all the tips!
