I think I have mentioned this before but I have had several cars PPF'd since 2005 and seen quite a few friends PPF results. You CANNOT just go by a "guestimate" to determine price. Some shops just install the PPF "kits". Some shops custom cut the PPF for the vehicle. Think of the cost of a custom cut suit compared to one you buy at The Bay. The BAy suit is much cheaper and kinda fits. Next is the installer. Some are just detailers who also do PPF and some are PPF manufacturer certified specialists with a lineup of customers and repeat customers. Next up is paint correction. The most reputable PPF installer here will give a general estimate but wants to see the car. The lights they use highlight any flaws and then a cost of correction can be determined. My C8 was at the installer when they noticed a small pinhole size chip in the paint and asked GM to correct that first. Then they spent a few hours correcting the paint. Then a few hours dismantling the car. etc etc. So if you want a good PPF, shop based on price. If you want a great PPF shop based on reputation.
