So.... As of yesterday the Iranian backed Houthis have taken full control over the Red Sea... Have raided the entire west coast of Yemen, who have admitted publicly that " They took it all. All of the west has fallen, and Perim Island too. They have everything now". And the Houthis have been directed by Tehran to escalate their attacks on Saudi who have since shutdown 3 shipping ports and pipelines. We think gas, diesel and groceries cost more now, just wait. All the while, the delusional phuckwit in the red hat and his billionaire republican buddies have pocketed another $7.3 billion and have refused to help the Saudi defend against the Houthis because they don't want to get involved in something they started in the first place.

Of interest on the "fake" news channel NBC this evening is a story about junior's wedding being paid for by a Russian oligarch. And now DJT is asking Ukraine to stop bombing the oil refineries. Talk about corruption! DJT is looking more and more as good as a Russian agent as well as president.
As to AI, about the only way they could "eliminate" us would be to trigger WWIII (as per the Terminator series). Could make things hard if the loonies start playing with Hydro/Electric generation, water systems, oil refineries, etc, etc. But that does not eliminate us.
Now the US has just about admitted, again fake news channel, that they have space based weapons. So things could be lining up. Give them a fleet of autonomous fighter/ bombers and things could get off kilter.
Best remedy! Get out and drive your vet as much as possible.

As a result of the current situation it almost seems to an extent that by definition we are moving towards Socialism. Given the multiple Billions being invested by our government. And yes it's probably necessary and smart if done properly although you have to think, is the government competent enough to do it effectively. Their track record as we know isn't stellar in that department. This is what made me think of it......

Think bold think big with good leadership and good strategy. We are not the US with a money printing machine. We need investment. Without it, we won't have the tax revenues to be reinvested within Canada. The alternative is to keep spending and put it on credit. Not ideal.
