While I wasn't a big fan during his stint as PM, especially in the last couple of years of his tenure, at 92 years old he's making a name for himself as a real statesman.
I won't post a link, but go to YouTube and search for "Jean Chretien Gander speech" from earlier today.
And keep an eye on the guy behind him, Trump's ambassador to Canada. The speech was aimed at that a-hole for the last 3 or 4 minutes. Several standing ovations from the audience in Gander.
Man, he was good.

One thing I always respected about Chretien is that he usually didn't pull many punches. Always spoke his mind . And he's still formidable.

You have to wonder how much the current situation with the tariff war is influencing this . Some very interesting stats regarding the upcoming referendum in Alberta. Especially the breakdown of the motivation of those leaning towards voting for a binding referendum later as to separation. Seems only 25% or so of the 24% who say they will vote for the binding referendum are actually fully in favor of actually separating. Some say they just want to send a message to Ottawa...... We will soon find out I suppose. And yes this is from the CBC but still , lol.
So. Maybe everyone can now calm down and breathe a bit easier. Because of course Turdump never changes his mind

Yes and fortunately there is enough push back from a number of affected States and the midterms that they will come around it seems. Find out soon enough. And you are right, it will never be as it once was .

The last time I checked, 19 out of top 20 NHL enforcers were Canadians. There only one and was ranked 15th.
