In a recent interview with CBC, former Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chrétien made remarks about national unity and the current political climate in Canada.
Chrétien referred to polling data, stating that Canadians appear to be more united than ever before. He added a provocative remark, saying:
“Thank you to Donald Trump for that,” referring to Donald Trump.
He then went on to suggest, somewhat controversially, that Trump could be nominated for the Order of Canada, one of the country’s highest civilian honors.
“I should propose him for the Order of Canada, but I cannot succeed. Do you know why?” Chrétien said.
When CBC host Rosie Barton suggested it might be because Trump is not Canadian or that people would object, Chrétien responded:
“No, Nelson Mandela had it.”
He continued by referencing Nelson Mandela, stating:
“Nelson Mandela had it, you know why? Because we don’t give it to a person who has a criminal record.”

I am probably mistaken , because it's getting more difficult to tell , but , I think that we have a somewhat different system than our friends to the South. Thank the Gods or not . No quite sure the way things are going.........
