Google the millions that the taxpayers spent trying to implement it. Don't forget the millions in cost overruns and computer program failures. To benefit who and what? Let's see. Thousands of law abiding sportsmen (and women) maybe? Nope. No benefit to them to spend their money registering hunting rifles; Crime fighting? Nope. Unfortunately criminals were typically smart enough to ignore mandatory firearm registration; Bleeding heart anti gun eastern lobbyists who feel there's no need for anyone except police that should own guns? Ok, you got me there. It was a squeaky wheel grease program that almost worked until government got pushed back when the Liberals threatened to take all hand guns away from us.
Do something about crime instead of wasting money pissing off honest people. Punish criminals instead of slapping hands and wondering a month down the road why the hand slap didn't work and innocent people are dead now because of it. But no. The status quo is find some feeble excuse to set criminals free to keep right on doing what they do best.
And now we have an insane potus that would like nothing better that to ruin our country so he can come in and claim it and our oil, gas, minerals, water, lumber and everything else as his own. And when they march across the border, hack into our government documents, and immediately know where and who owns firearms and might use them against them, they will know exactly where to go to squash us.
Thanks, but my firearms have never been registered, never will and when the US invades, like most of the people in the west, we will do our part for Canada to make as many of them as possible damn sorry they came.

Ya, I agree it would be impossible, but I meant there is no logical reason why it would be bad for anyone. Take Britain for example.. With their strict gun laws there murder rate is much lower than the U.S. and much lower by gun. I do agree that we should resolve the source of crime and violence. Their big problem since they did restrict guns is now knives. Don’t need a gun to intimidate or kill somebody. And knives are silent. Apparently it’s very common for criminals to be using them. Can’t win .
