If my math is correct I don't think this is true. If my math is incorrect then please correct me.

365 days a year equals 52 weeks and 1 day, that means whatever date of the year you pick, next year that date will be a day later. For example in the calendar below, Aug 1, 2014 is a Friday. This means Aug 1, 2015 will be a Saturday.

There always 31 days in August so the August calendar will look the same in any year as long as Aug 1 falls on a Friday. There are seven days a week so you can deduce that Aug 1 falling on a Friday would come around every 7 years, but we subtract for leap years since it would bump the date 2 days of the week forward. So now we have this occurrence coming around every 6 years. In theory this sounds good but it's possible to have 2 leap years between 6 years time which would reduce it to 5 years, or have a leap year land on the year that it would be pushed to a Friday thereby skipping it, so we work it out

Year 0 - 2014 - Friday
Year 1 - 2015 - Saturday
Year 2 - 2016 - Monday (leap year)
Year 3 - 2017 - Tuesday
Year 4 - 2018 - Wednesday
Year 5 - 2019 - Thursday
Year 6 - 2020 - Saturday (leap year)
Year 7 - 2021 - Sunday
Year 8 - 2022 - Monday
Year 9 - 2023 - Tuesday
Year 10 - 2024 - Thursday (leap year)
Year 11 - 2025 - Friday
Year 12 - 2026 - Saturday
Year 13 - 2027 - Sunday
Year 14 - 2028 - Tuesday (leap year)
Year 15 - 2029 - Wednesday
Year 16 - 2030 - Thursday
Year 17 - 2031 - Friday

So by my calculation 11 years after Aug 1, 2014, in the year 2025, August 1 will land on a Friday which would mean that there will be 5 Friday, Saturday and Sundays, and the occurrence will repeat itself once more 6 years after that, or 17 years after 2014 in the year 2031.

A quick check on my computer calendar seems to confirm this. It's quite a few years away but not quite 823 years...

Right on Pyro -- I just checked 2025 and 2031 and you're right: There are 3 Fridays, 3 Saturdays and 3 Sundays in August of both those years.

Good catch, Pyro -- the original assertion is not correct.
