74 turns over but is not starting….my fuel is low but gauge isn’t working

Back in the late 70's we had a photographic flash unit that had a 6 pack of caps larger than beer cans. We had a Huge 100 ohm resistor used to discharge it before working on it. My screw driver slipped and the thunder and lightning that happened was deafening and blinding. Luckily (or unlucky) I was looking the other way, but I still see spots! The screwdriver welded itself to the wiring connecting them! LOL

Well... we better stop derailing this thread....I will maybe open a thread in the off topic for automotive themed tricks we played on unsuspecting friend when we were young....

All of that but not had in carb yet I may try that today.
So you have good spark.
So you tried ether (Quickstart) directly into the carb and nothing? Not even an attempt at starting?
When was the last time it ran?

It will likely start when there are no more parts to replace…. ;) Have you determined that the engine isn’t seized? Pull a few plugs out and try turning the engine with a socket on the bottom pulley if you haven’t already. Worst case scenario but worth eliminating as the problem.
