6 month insurance for c4 question.

Finally had a look in my files ... :Nopity:so here's my song and dance ...
New purchase 2016 3LT Z51 - $750 per year with preferred rate full coverage no loss net-bill-of-sale amount replacement (msrp replacement is no longer available) and full glass as a 3rd vehicle - two 50'ish drivers - no business commute - hibernates in an attached garage at home. 5000 km per year (might have to change that though). Parking it only gave me a $40 break and a headache due being warned that, if removed, I might not be able to apply for no loss replacement on the next annual renewal. Was also told it's only a $40 break because it appears fire and theft and "recommended" liability portions (i.e. if a fire is deemed to have sourced at the car) would be increased at a proportional rate for the time the vehicle is parked and especially if parked away from home. So I decided that this "rocket" insurance is not being "parked" and I now avoid the Calculus mathematics for "net savings". Big bonus though is that I get to start it up and roll without having to tell anyone that the season has started for me.
... BUT ... this might all change when my 15 yr old eventually decides to want the independence of graduated licence driving - might or might not get an insurance cost break if a 4th car is added to my collection and used as a primary for her ... :Banghead: ... I have to wait and see ...
My insurance advisor admitted to be surprised with cost of this Corvette endorsement as he knew that older model Corvettes would easily run at twice the amount .. it appears to be a small victory and 1up for C7 owners ... and hate to say it but I was also told that Insurance rates appear to vary with the Owner's Postal Code ...

LOL.... SN-III . By the time I looked up all the big words and then tried to understand what you just said, it cost my company $ 200.00 of my time so I'm just gonna stick with what I do now..... Was interesting though....

Yup!
Between OCD and Dementia ... I have chosen OCD (minimizing insurance costs and bank fees are big)

... love this post and appreciate those who are sharing in this insurance crap too ....

You do realize that one decent burnout and half your allowed mileage has gone up in smoke... literally and figuratively...

Ouch... I pay 900 a year for my C7 and less than half that when it's parked... maybe the history will help you...

Wow... Some of the rates you are talking about are crazy.

Collector Car Insurance through Intact.

01 C5, 10000 km/yr Considered primary vehicle. $639 Full Coverage
91 ZR-1 5000 km/yr Full Year $207 Full Coverage
75 C3 5000 km/yr Full Year $179 Full Coverage

Collector Insurance requires the car to be Appraised, I believe even newer vehicles can qualify as a "Collector Car" it does not have to be an antique.
In the event of an incident, the payout is based on the appraised value, not the book value.

I'm watching you AB boys.... Needless to say I pay more than all of you put together so there....

May as well get done for texting my local Beer Store whilst downing a bottle of cave aged single malt that had a particularly good year and recreating the best highlights of Death Race... My premiums won't go up that much.

Which do you pay the highest premium on Nik... the Veneno or the Veyron?
:crazzee:

I was quite surprised actually... That's almost the same as I pay for my 7 year old Rav4 or my 18 year old diesel Ford.... I asked about it and they told me it's all based on statistics.... Of course everyone knows that 63.2% of statistics are made up on the spot...

Hi Steve. I buy the full meal deal for the year and then when I put my car away, I call my broker girl and cancel all except what they call 'Parked' insurance. Basically fire and theft... They then send me a rebate on my payment. I'm with wawanesa

I do the same. No problems with our insurance company that way.

so ive gone to the same insurance company that my work place uses. they tuned it down to $560 per year. so i get to pay about 48$ a month. the vette will be on the road this next week. finally
