I did my Mercedes in satin black and they show less dust. The Mercedes pads are known for excessive dust and the satin shows it the least.
My C7 wheels are gloss black and show the dust easily.

I agree the satin black is more user friendly and to my eye looks better on the cars. The Z I have now with the CC brakes makes very little dust but the 15Z I had was not Z07 and the brake dust off the OEM pads was horrible. The only thing that kept me sane was the satin black finish on the wheels did not show the dust terribly bad.
