3 Year Transmission Service - 2 Extra Quarts of Oil

I originally had 2 extra quarts of transmission oil added when I did my first oil change in 2024 (about $600 for oil and labour), I just finished my three year maintenance and asked the dealer to add the two extra quart’s at the same time. I was expecting to pay for the two extra quarts of oil but not an additional labour fee (1 hour is what I was charged) as the car was in for the transmission service anyway. I was informed that there is additional work that needs to be done to add the two extra quarts that is not part of standard maintenance. Wanted to understand what others have experienced.

I had mine done earlier this year. I’m under the maintenance plan so no charge. I asked that they put in the the extra 2 quarts and I would pay for them. They said not necessary, they will fill it completely. No extra charge.

Why 2 extra L of T.O.?

High G cornering required the extra 2 litres so the tranny didn't starve. Especially if you were tracking your car. Supposedly not necessary since the 23 MY.

24 M.Y. no extra Tranny oil: GM redesigned the C.C. - recommended if tracking car 2020 - 2023 0nly!!!!
