Have you driven one? The manual trans is super nice, and the engine is great. However, the ride is horrendous. A friend of mine has one and will only take it on short cruises because it is so uncomfortable. He's looking into changing the suspension. He's owned it for about 8 years and has been super reliable. The only thing about the first gen is the front suspension mounts crack.

Thanks for the info. I have only driven the V8 one. Don't remember much as it was long time ago.

Good thing if you are shopping because they will become negotiable but bad news for us who own one cause now we start losing resale value. Luckily I am not selling my C8 unless something better looking comes along and does quarter mile faster ! So not selling ;) :p.

GM really needs a model in between a Stingray and an E-Ray/Z06.

Having owned a Gallardo which is basically the same car I would not go back to it co pared to the vette. The peace on mind you have with a GM and all the dealers is a big plus, at least for me.
 
The older R8's and Gallardo's do have a stiff ride. I didn't get to drive them when new so I'm not sure if they just got worse over time or they were like that new? The single clutch transmissions are also a bit "jerky" and hard to drive smooth but oh man do they ever look and sound so good. It makes it tempting until you start to really think about maintenance costs. :Arghh:
 
Yes they do look and sound good. They are not as user friendly as the Corvette. The clutch on the Egear is horrible to live with. I hated it. They can become a financial nightmare if they decide to go wrong. And forget the luggage space.
 
This is an actual 72 Miura SV we worked on a few years ago for a private collector. Now that's a Lambo I wouldn't mind owning!!! $4M +

Not really greed. From a business perspective when your selling 3-4% of production to Canada why take a loss on units (exchange rate) compared to home base USA? Also I find the main problem in Canada is the Luxury Tax of 12-20K which is also not a GM problem. The Luxury Tax just steers people away to other alternative vehicles or used purchases.
