2020 Restart > TPW Updates ✔

I can confirm the email to be true: GM is planning on opening assembly plants back up starting May 18th. They will begin with trucks, then SUV's and Corvettes. That is to say, Corvette production will likely not start on the 18th, but perhaps a week or two after.

They will begin with 1 shift, then slowly ramp up to two, then three. Employees will need to be re-trained on everything as they've been away from work for so long.

Edit to add: The situation is fluid. If things take a turn for the worse again, the plants may not open or may be forced to re-close.
Maybe they can retrain them on how to align body panels.

Cant the dealers do that for us? Not like they got much else to do at their desks.

Dealers can see the updated TPW, but they need to know where to look. Don't count on them knowing the right places.

Just saw a post that seems to be a legit leak that the Bowling Green Production Line will restart May 25th and not the 18th. This sounds good to me! I would rather they get it right than fast.

Corvette Blogger reported it earlier today. Showing the same startup schedule copy. On the same topic on the Corvette Blogger site Tadge Juechter was interviewed by the Pres of the Eastern Ont. Corvette club - shows a date of May 8, in that Tadge said the startup is not yet confirmed. I see it is only 1 shift and part of the slowdown before Covid 19 shutdown was a reduction to 1 shift from 2. How will that affect TPW in the coming weeks.

I knew it was a bad idea to watch that live reveal July 18th. What with the time change and all, I’d be up into the wee hours of the morning, and It’s going to be tough getting up for work. Turns out that was the least of my worries. I lay awake the rest of that night in awe of it’s MSRP. Could this dream become reality? How would I convince the wife? I did the math, over and over and by the time that alarm went off, I was all in. That whole weekend I visited many Chevy dealers. Settled on W.N. (which I was told, is a large allocation dealer). My deposit went down on July 23rd and I was told I was 29th ish in line. (Note: the suffix “ish” should alway be a red flag). My allocation was picked up in October. I tried like hell to stick handle around the constraints. Went to 3000 last week of January. TPW of April then May 4th then June 6th. Haven’t called about my TPW since March and I’m not going to bothered either. I’ve learned the “T” in TPW stands for “Target”. I know more than one person who ordered after me and they are driving their C8 now. I pretty sure there will be people that ordered before me, and I’ll be driving my C8 before them. I find everyones story interesting… and that’s mine. If there’s a rhyme or reason for all this chaos, I can’t figure it out, nor do I care to. I do know I can’t stay in this bloody house any longer though, so I’m heading out to the garage again to add more Corvette paraphernalia and dream of what will be. Stay safe everyone.
Anyone know how many coats of floor epoxy is too many?

I wouldn't waste my money. I had my garage floor done twice, by so-called professionals and within a few years it started lifting and they didn't standby their so-called warranty. Here's looking at you StonCor in Whitby.
