We are working on getting group booking for the plant tour.( our group must all be there for this all. 40 cars). And we believe the museum is anyone’s entry. Other tours are there to do as well.
Please go to our event page for this to let us know that you are coming so we can hold a spot for you ASAP. First come first serve. We will start a waiting list for those after the first 40. But this must be done very soon so we can book extra rooms. Any late reply’s may have to arrange their own bookings if to late for us to help out.
We will get you there to BG. On the return home trip. Everyone is on there own. Some people may start a group trip home.

Welcome Gord. We have a great group of people going on this cruise. Baby Ray (Ken) is the co-captain (north) and all the information about the 2019 Bowling Green Cruise will go through this site.

We were part of the 2014 Caravan and had a great time. We are very much looking forward to being able to do this again in 2019.

Maybe sometime in the next month or so

could you describe the worst part of the trip

reason is the wait times at gas stations, hotels, meals, and so on made us stay home

sorry just being practical

Jeff

Close to 40mpg (cdn) equal very little time at the pump. My suggestion at the very first kick off meeting was, we (western Canadian group) stop at truck stops that will have between 10-20 pumps, (Loves and Flying J) plus large restrooms, plus restaurants, plus take out food, plus snacks, plus nick knacks and paddy wacks.
Jeffer we will take care of you.:Hurray:

For the most part, everything that was planned went well despite having rain the first few days on the road. While on route, no issues getting fuel, lodging (rooms were pre-booked) or meals. We did run into a short section of poor road on route as construction was underway and the pavement was torn up. The section with no pavement was very bumpy and muddy (approx. 1 to 2 km). One fellow in our group with a C5 ended up damaging his exhaust system, nothing serious but he did end up having to get it repaired.

Once we got to the staging area just outside of Bowling Green things got a whole bunch busier. We had a long wait in the staging area before the group was allowed into Bowling Green. I recall it being late afternoon which basically made for gridlock in Bowling Green. When 1000's of cars show up during when the locals are heading home from work, traffic didn't move very quickly. Once we arrived at the Museum, we were directed to the parking lot at the race track where they had shuttle buses to take us back to the museum. Once back at the museum, registration lines were long, the place was packed, but that was to be expected.

Our hotel was in Franklin KT, a 30 minute drive south of Bowling Green. No issues getting meals or fuel near our hotel. With the number of people and cars that attended the 20th anniversary event, I did hear about restaurants running out of food and line ups at gas stations in Bowling Green. I would think that restaurants will be better prepared in 2019 knowing what happened in 2014.

The only thing I wasn't totally prepared for was the heat and humidity, that made being outside very uncomfortable. It's currently -13 outside as I'm typing this, I wouldn't mind being back in the heat right now!

Are there many C1/C2/C3 Corvettes that join in on the Alberta Caravan to BG?
Currently we only have C5,C6 & C7 so far going. One C4 is interested so far. Nothing earlier yet. Please keep in mind that we would be stopping( pit stops) every 1.5-2hrs to let everyone get out and stretch, gas up, Eat/snack. For about 10-20min. Unless something to stop at may be longer.
Its always nice to have all generations come out cruising. Although this is quite the longer one. But always fun times.

We have very strict rules. Drive your car (any year) be friendly, be happy, have fun, make friends and smile a lot.
We would love to see each generation in our caravan. We should have one C3 so far.
Look forward to seeing you in your ride.
Any questions about the cruise, this is the site. Myself (Dennis), Ken and Heather, Paul and Larry are on the committee so we should be able to answer most questions

Planning is coming along very well and when I get a new Update from the National Chairman, Jeff "Zippity" Duda I will share it here as well as on our Facebook pages. Jeffer the "worst part of the trip" right now would be hours driving your amazing car down the road...... Haha.
We are tweaking the itinerary and will share it along with locations and leave times. This way if someone wants to take a different road for a spell they can rejoin the crew at one of the many stops. The key for the caravan is the cities and hotels we are booking. Once we hit Rapid City we hook up with the Pacific Northwest caravan and then join up with the North Central Caravan in Wisconsin Dells. From there is should be 250 to 300 cars closing in on Bowling Green.

Once we are connected with the other groups there are planned activities along the routes that we can all partake or rest. Either way it's going to be one H$LL of a trip!:Cheers2:

and just to ramp up interest then there's the drive home............ What to do, what to do..............

Planning is going well. Route is done, hotels are being held and shirts and other items are being selected plus many other items in the mix.
Over 40 cars on the list!
Problem is the wait.......................................................
