I have just recently installed a set of Kooks stepped long tube headers with the Green Cat and 3" X pipe and exhaust smells like it is running a bit rich.. There are no other mods is it needing a new tune or will the ECM make some adjustments to refine the engine to the mods? Does anyone know as well if a tune is needed how much will it bump up the HP?

A number of aftermarket exhaust systems do require an ECM tweak usually having to be done at a Corvette dealership. Not sure about your exact installation but I'm having the the Corsa Extreme exhaust installed next month and it requires it . Although my installer claims they are able to do it but I don't think it can be done with just a scan tool . Your installer should know about this , or did you install the parts yourself? Oh right, Corsa claim 18 HP and 16 pound feet with a 27 lb weight reduction.

The shop I had doing the installation said I might want a new tune but I was not sure that would be necessary I thought the ECM would see a mild difference in running conditions and do a mild tweak to adjust. Am I wrong on that assumption?

I would think your installer should know best if he does a lot of Corvettes. Maybe ask Matt or Steve at Davenport Motorsports in Calgary. They are pretty much the best in the west when it comes to Vettes. 1-866-865-6016
