Has anyone purchased the new 2012 Nav Disc?

Are you finding that it is up to date and shows new roads in your area?

I am thinking of buying an updated on for my 2008 zo6 but last year the disc tha came with my new 2011 chevy truck was out of date the day I bought the truck.

I upgraded from 2008 to 2011 in my Avalanche. Was very good--without being too cryptic, I was able to find a version for much cheaper than at the dealership! They new CD ROMs are a total rip-off. SIGH, sometimes I hate dealers.

For sure on the rip-off and the updates.

Are the Chev updates/discs not encoded to each car?

If not then that could lead to pirated copies being used.

No, not suggesting anyone do that since it's illegal, but I know my SHO has encoded discs and wondered if Chev has same.

Would also suggest private convos on the subject since we don't know who's listening.
