1996 Collector Edition

Can the '96 Collector Edition Corvettes be had with either the LT1 or LT4. Somewhere in the back of my head I had it that they all came with the LT4 and six speed.

I think you are confusing it with the GS, which if I am not mistaken, came only with the LT-4 / ZF 6 speed.

From talking to people, I gather that these LT4 Cars can run with the LS1s. I've been toying with the idea of picking one up if I see what I want. The '96s in general seem to be pretty reasonably priced and are not so loaded down with computers and computer modules like the newer ones. Just looking at this point.

You are right on the GS and LT4. Is that ZF 6 speed transmission the same one used with the early ZR1s?

I think the ZF tranny is the same across the entire C4 line. GS prices are starting to go up....they are selling for more than ZR1s in some cases. LT4 are pretty easy to modify too.
