The numbers on the rear of the engine..same place other side should have the date code. You may be able to narrow it down from there to a 2 or 4 bolt main. Interestingly Corvette is listed a home for this engine in the first site. But because of the "Hecko en Mexico" it's pretty likely yours is a Targetmaster replacement. You can also do a search for your car through GM to determine if it ever had a warranty engine replacement. Your favorite GM parts or service guy should be able to do this for you. Sometimes you have to push a bit because these searches can be a bit tedious and have some dead ends. Been through this but a good parts person can definitely do it. The record does exist. </p><p></p><p>By the way there is a huge forum debate on certain vintages of this Mexican made engine. Some say it is actually softer metals and wear out quick. While equally or more guys rave about them as having a slightly different alloy and being fantastic for building power engines. And yet others say they just run the engine stock and have had no problems...
