1/8 inch mini jack.

Funny, I have mine a bit towards the front and a couple of notches towards the right...
I currently have it a bit to the right as well but just shifted it a bit to the back. Going to have to play around with it for a bit to get it where it sounds the best. I’m going to turn off the audio pilot and set everything to flat and slowly try different settings. A three band equalizer isn’t that great. Maybe if you leave everything in neutral and use the equalizer on your player instead it might produce better results. Also to be fair it’s a pretty small space for 14 speakers and two sub woofers. Heading for High Level tomorrow morning if there isn’t snow on the road. Jesus H .

I have an older Creative Zen MP3 player which I have a few thousand FLAC tracks on that outputs via 3.5 mil jack . No Bluetooth unfortunately and it only charges by USB .
I have a new bluetooth MP3 but also have an antique iPod with 30,000 tunes on it. With my C7, I can plug the Ipod's charging cable into the USB port in my dash and my Infotainment screen recognizes it as a media device. Works fine.

I’m going to try a usb c adapter.

Semi-off topic - apologies. Rruff, I also have an ancient iPod with thousands of tunes that plays 24/7 in my garage. I want to delete some material and add others but the memory cells that knew how to do it are long burned. Any advice? Thx.

Perhaps updating the firmware.

Perhaps for some but my Creative x-fi mp3 has very good sound quality and as with most electronic sound devices especially higher end the better the signal in the better the sound reproduction. I’m finding the “ premium “ Bose system in the C8 to be so so . I think that the factory system in my Tundra is every bit as good perhaps better to be honest perhaps due to the CD player which is of course is PCM 44,100 HZ . Far superior to the streaming compressed signal from SeriousXM for example. I like my tunes . And I know a lot of people say when you get older you can’t hear a lot of frequencies that you could when you were younger but my hearing is still very good. I have always and still do use hearing protection when I’m around anything loud. It does make a big difference.
Dump them all onto a USB A or C drive, and plug it into one of the centre console USB ports.
Best I could do was rip my CDs to my Win10 laptop, and then copy/reroute them to a bunch of USB drives for use in our "fleet".
BTW, what's wrong with the *1/8 inch mini Jack* that shows up on here every so often?

Yes. Not a lot of settings other than bass , treble , equalizer , and “ sound stage “ . Where the balance is focused, driver , passenger or center. Again sound quality out is to a great degree only as good as the signal in. I mean it’s pretty good but certainly not outstanding. I’m thinking it will improve once it gets fed a quality input.
So, make the best of it, and don't expect Macintosh/Klipsch quality from your dash/doors/seat backs.
It's just a car.

There is no 1/8 port in my center console. I have seen it it some documentation and other C8’s so perhaps it was a supply chain issue when mine went down the line. That’s why I asked if any other 2024 owners have it in theirs. Mine just has 1 usbA and 1 USBc . I will pick up an adapter as my player only outputs from the 1/8 inch and only charges from the USB . I want to use it because it has fantastic signal to noise ratio, great eq , etc .

I appreciate that. I guess it depends on what you’re used to, I have a very good sound system at home so ya in comparison…. Although I noticed today that the streaming quality of some streams on Serious are noticeably better than others not that any of them are stellar. I also noticed that more volume and flatter settings is an improvement. I think that with a lossless codec track it will make a big difference.

OK, I see I've been misinterpreted. Again.
No, I don't have the 1/8" 3.5mm mini jack in the car, anywhere that I can find, but I wasn't too concerned by that omission between prior years and 2024 MY. I too, have the USB A/C ports.
The reference to it in my prior post was concerning a certain forum terrorist, newly referrred to as "1/8 inch mini Jack" by some.
Sorry if I was being obtuse.
Could you buy an adapter to use in the 12VDC outlet below to the left of the glove box in passenger seat area? I bought a 12VDC male charger for that outlet and it has 2 cables that can charge a USB C equipped cell phone, of which we have 3. To run your MP3 player, or would that even help? I guess you want to feed the MP3 directly to the Bose system. It could be done via the USB ports in the centre console. They make just about any kind of adapter you can think of these days.

I understand what you’re saying and appreciate the input. The issue is that my player outputs signal to headphones, aux in on a receiver for example only from the 1/8 inch female port on the player. It has a mini usb port but it is for charging only. I am going to try a 3.5 mm to usb-c adapter and see if that works. In reference to the 3.5 mm port that seemingly was included in previous model years it now says “ if equipped “ for whatever reason. I have seen pictures of the storage compartment in the center console showing the usb-a , usb-c , and the 3.5 mm port . I got shafted on the 3.5 . I’m just wanting to get the best solution/performance possible from the system as I value my tunes . And SeriousXM is a great concept but poor execution. I won’t be subscribing as “ 1/8/inch mini Jack “ often states , lol . I may end up going the thumb drive route with lossless rips which wouldn’t be the end of the world although you lose the ability to feed signal through a portable DSP which can improve signal/sound quality dramatically. I have already ordered an adapter so will let you know how that goes. Thanks again.

How did you load music into your player.

Hmmmm.... do you still have your tunes on your computer. If so, go to your ITunes folder. Your music should be on there. Delete the tunes you don't want, add the tunes you do want and then plug in your IPod and sync it with your Itunes library. It will overwrite the IPod files so make sure you include all the tunes you want back in. Hope that helps.

USB but it’s a one way street. You can load songs via USB but to delete tracks it’s managed on the device. In all fairness it’s a seven or so year old unit but still a great rig. Creative Labs make some excellent products. Any PC gamer who has been at it for a while would recognize the Sound Blaster line of PCI Sound cards although these days onboard audio has gotten quite good and most people just go with that. I did connect it to the car with USB but all I got was a charging icon on the player. Didn’t show up as a connected device.

Don't know whether you've tried to connect anything up to the audio system yet, but it's fussy about extrenal device formats FAT32 vs exFAT vs NTFS. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it, but I think exFAT formatted devices/files work better with the MY2024 sound system, as USB device input, if you decide to go that route. Unless you're a Bluetooth or youcannotbeserious Xm fan, it is probably the easiest route to getting your music into your car. Good luck.
There's a lot of threads on the differences/likes/dislikes of the 2024 system vs the prior years on other forums.

Thanks. I was aware of the proper formatting issue. Interestingly when you stick a new SD card in the PDR slot the system offers to format the card if it detects the wrong format. And yes I believe it’s exFAT it requires. Ya , Serious sucks. And anytime you can use a cable IMHO that’s the way to go. The latest revision of the Bluetooth standard is an improvement it’s still not as good as a cable.
