Hi Steve, similar issues with the 96' C4 and I agree with Tubozig; ensure the shift AND the release button on top is firmly seated in park, wiggle it a little, that button must disengage. Then, and only then, can I remove my key. Probably manual linkage is worn or bent. Cheers, Tim
1996 C4 LT1, with all original equipment except for all seals which were replaced last year.
Clean car, polished but, after a short trip noticed what appears to be brake dust on the lower rear panels behind the wheels. No squealing, no problems with brakes (at least none that I have detected)...

Thanks Dave for the heads up. I have had one experience with the VATS; on the freeway, no phone and scared the (%*$&^%) out of me! Car died and pulled into the emergency lane. Flashing security light then it went out. Then the car started. Got home and parked it for a while. My mechanic...
