    Thanks. I figured as much since I couldn't find it. I wonder why, though. Does anyone have an idea why they decided to go without a cabin filter in this model. My C6 has one again....

    C5 Cabin Filter?

    Can't find a cabin filter anywhere in my newly acquired 1998 C5 !?:Confused5: My C6 does have one under the cowling behind the battery. Also, no cabin filter mentioned in the owner's manual. So I assume the C5 just didn't have one. Does anyone know why? Thanks!

    Decided not to take a chance and went back to my garage. Good thing I did. The Vette was sitting there exactly 24 hours and the accessory mode Does NOT time out with the shifter in neutral. The two lights (red & amber) on the start button were illuminated and the DIC on the instrument cluster...

    Yeah, that's the Problem. Forgot to shift back to "park". I left it in "neutral"......:Banghead: ...if the gearshift is in park, the accessory mode automatically times out after a while and the car goes to sleep. I guess I have to make the 40 mile trip to my garage and see what happened....:(

    Hi everyone, I left the car sitting in my garage in neutral with the accessory mode on "ON" by mistake. Forgot to shift to park and turn off the ignition. Will that drain my battery? Or does it turn off automatically after a while? Just wondered as I will not be back at the garage for two days...

    C6 & C5 Oil Filters interchangeable ?

    Roger! How convenient for me. First time I hear about a bypass valve it the oil filter. I never paid attention to that detail. So if both filters - with and without the bypass valve - fit the threading, I may still get it wrong. What does the bypass valve do exactly?

    Hi Everyone ! Just a quick question: I just acquired a 1998 C5 convertible with the base 5.7L engine. Just wondering if the oil filters I use on my 2005 C6 coupe with the base 6.0L engine will also fit the C5. I hope they do as I have a plentiful supply of them. Does anyone know? Wishing all...

    Unbelievable but true! Tried to order this little micro-switch directly from GM today and guess what !? they will not sell just the micro-switch alone but only the whole shifter assembly wich includes the micro switch. That is really rotten .......:mad:

    Cleaning the weatherstripping and applying a thin coat of silicone lube every year works for me. It reduces the friction noise but not completely. I never thought of tightening the contact-pins. Will do that next and see what happens. Thanks...great video!

    How is "oil life remaining" calculated?

    Hi Everyone ! My driver information center displays * 88% oil life remaining * . Last oil change was 20 months ago. I only drove the C6 for aprox. 2000 Mi since then. So if I keep up this schedule, my next oil change will be in about 10 years according my computer. Obviously it doesn't take...
