I didn't need a puller as it is the first style with the key.
I found a good picture by picture illustration and it looks like if you take your time it shouldn't be too hard.

an addendum to my last post.
in a nutshell. has anyone had any experience with the 2 piece replacement 1974 bumper cover whether it be fiberglass or tru-flex.

Its time I got something ordered in the way of a back bumper cover for my 74.
there seems to be a plethora of choices .
In searching the net, I have found Fiberglass( fake split) Fiberglass 2 piece, Tru-flex ( fake split) and Tru-flex 2 piece.

not sure if you still need this and it is approximate .
After several attempts under there holding a flashlight and measuring tape I come up with about 16 1/16 to 16 1/8 center to center.
That should get you close enough.
my setup is pretty standard at about 1/2 to 3/4 neg camber...
Its been a while but I did the swap back around 1994. I used a 700r4 from an 87 Corvette and swapped out the Turbo 400 from my 74. I still own the car and everything has held together through some very spirited slalom racing and highway driving.

I have been reading other threads on different sites that basically concur with what you are saying. I have to say that the originals on my car are not the greatest fit either.
Do you have any suggestions as to where to purchase the fiberglass bumpers? Are they all made by...
Sorry if this has been posted and replied to before but I am looking to replace mainly the rear and eventually the front bumpers on my 74.
The rear is the worst as it is cracked and will be done first.
Have any of you out there done this and did you go Truflex or Fiberglass?

Just finishing my Borgeson install on my 73 and now begs the question ATF, or regular or Synthetic PS fluid.
Steering shop that sold me the unit says ATF. Borgeson says PS fluid. Any ideas.
