I have looked under car and there is a small linkage that has broken it is about 1/8 inch in diameter?

Feels like nothing, 1 and second definite feel of engagement, engine off feels same. Is this a notorious problem w Muncie? Or maybe just linkage pin or bolt needs tightening.
