C3 ..I am looking for factory period correct Turbine wheels 1969 coupe ,Id like to fit the max tire size and width without issues?? . should I stagger front and back?? the centers.. factory straight spinners
Please help Spring is coming !!

...to my knowledge the turbine style wheels were a factory option on the 67 and down C2 cars. The only turbine style that were offered on a C3 was the 1982 Collector Edition ( pictured) which was a tribute to that C2 style wheel. They were 15x8 I believe and had 255/60/15 tires. 1980 -82 had the front wheel opening abit larger than the earlier C3's to accomodate the bigger tire , otherwise a 225/70/15 was the std size. I've seen where guys are using 235/60 on front and 255/60 in back on the early C3's cause of the front having clearance issues with the 255's . My 82 came with factory 255/60's and has no issues, but perhaps someone here with the early C3's can give you better advice from their own experience with different wheels/tires.
Finding used 82 Collector Edition wheels is rare and pricey. But there are reproduction 67 style wheels and spinners available at places like Corvette Central, Ecklers etc that you can see online. Just be prepared they are not cheap.

I do not have turbines but...

My 15 x 8 Rally's currently have on 255/60R15 on the rears and 245/60R15 on the fronts. 255/60 Would rub on my car in the front however I have heard of others running them with no issue. Main reason is pre '75 (I think) these cars were hand fit and assembled offering a variance in finished size and part placement. In 1978 all cars came with 255/60R15 stock all around. Stock size on pre '78 was equivalent to 225/70R15. I believe '68 had narrower rims. 15x7 or maybe even 15x6!

If you relocate the e-brake bracket on the trailing arms you should be able to fit 275 wide (or more) tires in the rear with no other issues I love the look of my car with the 255 vs the 225, made a huge difference.

May have helped, maybe not.

I auto crossed with 265/50R15s BFG EURO T/As on 8" wide rallies on my '75 coupe for 25 years...
I little rub on the frame on one side up front at full lock... no problem.
I did do the emergency bracket relocate to the top of the trailing arm.

I now run 255/45ZR17s all around.
