    Spark plug and wire replacement

I still have the original AC Delco platinun spark plugs, the car runs great, but I've never taken them out in the almost 6 years I've had the car, so I wanted to check on them to see how they were looking and make sure non were stuck. I also wanted to have spare wires in case any broke, so I...

    Battery Terminal Replacement

The GM battery termals are a sketchy design, with the angled nut that tightened the terminal, and are prone to not tightening or breaking. I hadn't had any problems with mine until last summer when the negative terminal would not tighten, and while I was able to adjust it and get it to tighten...

    Roof Panel Latch Replacement

When reinstalling the roof panel recently, when latching the driver's side, I heard a crack sound followed by a piece of the latch roller landing on me. Some Googling and reading on other forums infomed me that 2005-2007 use a roller on the latch and that the design was updated in 2008 with...

    Coolant Flush

I check the rad for debris annually while doing other maintenance.

    Audio upgrade round 2

Update: the new sub arrived and it sounds great. It has more bass then the JL Audio 10WXv2 10" I have in the rain car which probably comes down to the box since it's small, but still, impressive for Walmart grade gear. 10" sub in the rain car. I tried both corner mounting it like before and...

    Coolant Flush

It's been 5 years so time to flush the coolant. I flushed it myself last time, so opted to do it again. It's a little tricky as you can get air stuck in the system, but with the right procedure you can bleed the air from the steam port and don't need an air bleeding system. I used AC Delco...

    Audio upgrade round 2

Subwoofer update, I ordered a Pyle PSBS10 off the jungle website. I like the low profile when laying down so it will fit in the back very well without taking up too much space or sticking out. It was an Amazon Warehouse Deals open box in "very good" condition for $70 which fit with my budget...

Dexos2 0w40 nowhere to be found!

@Murray20c8 Former Mayor "Moonbeam" Gregor Robinson of Vancouver is an avid cyclist, is responsible for the proliferation of bike lanes without community consolation. He is wealthy from his juice company, and he famously rode Skytrain without paying the fare, so I guess he's a bike setting elite?

Dexos2 0w40 nowhere to be found!

A government plot preventing us from using oil and gas, they'll still jet and limo around.

Dexos2 0w40 nowhere to be found!

Has anyone talked to the dealer and found out if there's an alternate spec for street use like with the C7? The whole point of a 0w40 is to get the cold temp flow rate for startup protection with the high temp flow rate for track driving conditions so you can use one oil for both conditions...

Dexos2 0w40 nowhere to be found!

    This is the way.

Dexos2 0w40 nowhere to be found!

Once out of warranty, any synthetic 0w40 or even a 5w40 that is API SP and ILSAC GF-6 would work fine. A 5w40 would be fine, the difference between a 0w and a 5w is only at very cold temperatures, well out of the range you're likely operating your car, and 5w synthetics still flow very well...

Need advice for auto insurance in BC

I got a quote from Family 2 years ago and it was twice as much as ICBC, even with also quoting my rain car and getting multi vehicle discount. The agent said they tend not to like cars like Corvettes so there aren't deals to be had. David Eby our wonderful unelected Premiere "solved" the ICBC...

    Used parts

@Bmacz06 I haven't ordered from them but I've used PayPal purchasing protection successfully a few times. It's a bit of a hassle as you have to file the claim, provide info, give the seller to respond, but then if the seller doesn't sufficiently counter your claim, PayPal rules in your favour...

C6 front plate bracket - no drill - what is everyone using if anything?

My car is a BC car, had no plate holder since new and was not a problem for the previous owner, but he was in the Okanagan which is more relaxd and he's older. I was in my 30s when I got the car and I'm in Vancouver. I also cross the US border regularly so I went without the plate for a month...
