The Z06’s EPA mpg ratings are 12 City and 19/21 Highway. The 19 mpg is with the aero package (Z07) and 21 mpg with a Z06 in the base trim. The combined mpg rating is 14/15 (Z07/Base)."
If these fuel consumption ratings are accurate, one can expect to have an additional excise fuel tax added to the car price before tax. On the 12/19 mpg (19.6/12.4 l/100k) EPA rating the tax is $4,000 and on the 12/21 mpg (19.6/11.2 l/100k) EPA rating the tax is $3,000. (refer to Current Rates of Excise Taxes - Canada.ca ). The Select Luxury Item Tax and applicable Sales Tax is on top of that!

Wow I didn’t even think of that. This is just getting worse and worse.

The excise tax on fuel-inefficient vehicles is calculated on the basis of the weighted fuel consumption rating. For purposes of this tax, the weighted fuel consumption rating is calculated by combining 55% of the city fuel consumption rating with 45% of the highway fuel consumption rating.
