Oddly news. So my phone rings at like 8:30 pm. Call display says a "private caller" so I don't pick up and continue to do my dishes. But then I check and a message has been left by the caller. It is from my doctor. At 8:30 in the evening no less! Again my experience with the medical system here in Alberta 10 years ago and now just leaves me so impressed!!!!!!! So OK, here is the message that he left. 1) The 12 square inches of skin that he removed around the original tumor site was clean - no cancer. 2) he is forwarding the file to the cancer council as he was never able to remove any of the lymph nodes due to none of the radioactive cobalt tracer moved from the inject site to my lymph nodes so they can't identify which lymph nodes to test. He is not sure what they will want to do, which way to lean. So, well, sort of happy with #1 but never knew about #2 to be honest with you. I had no idea that no lymph nodes had been removed, I thought he had grabbed some samples from likely candidates. Maybe given how damaged my lymphatic system is in my left arm he didn't want to remove any of there was no indication of which ones they should be. So, no burnout/convertible/a 100% clean bill of health just yet but maybe................in the near future? And I mean ya, of course I'm glad that there was nothing in the skin around the tumor but the real information needed was the sentinel node situation and there was no news on it. Just have to wait now for what the cancer council says/things and to go from there. Might be just go on with your life, could be "we'll remove all the lymph nodes in that area to be safe, sorry your arm looks like a leg...................". THANKS TO YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT! Heck I have told my gf but you guys were told before my parents/friends here...............! Cheers, Garry
