I just booked my appointment for the low beam light recall and the dealer told me that there was a second recall on my car, the roof had bee recalled due to it being defective.
Anyone have theirs replaced yet for this recall?
I have the hardtop, but wondering if they'll give me the clear top instead...assuming that's even negotiable?

I did find threads on this dating back to 2010, but no real feedback posted.

Just wondering what to expect here. Anyone gone through this yet?

Thanks,
David

there was a roof recall on the Z06's, I had mine replaced on my 2006 - all was fine after.

Heard of the low beam thing but sold my car before that one I think.

Apparently the roof recall was done on our car before we ever bought it. The outer skin was delaminating from the rest of the roof structure on some cars. We have the recall notice on the jumper wire install for the headlight problem. I think GM first tried to re-glue the outer panel but when that was not working, they replaced the whole roof insert.

HAd our low beam recall done last week and depending what kind of Vette OP has there's a recall on certain C6 coupes where the rear hatch hinges are too light and get replaced with heavier sets..... Had that done at the same time!!...............

Mine is going in for the headlight recall and the passenger side front grill recall as well. None of the others came up.

Had the car in yesterday. 05 LS2 Base C6, black on black.
Appointment was booked for the headlight wiring and roof recall, oil change and front fender clip replacement.....and well, the headlight wiring was done but for whatever reason the roof wasn't in yet and because it has to be color matched when it does arrive, I have to reschedule for the roof exchange.

When my car was ready....6 hours later, they said "hey good news and bad news. The bad news is that you have to come back for the roof recall but the good news is that you can have your roof painted any color you want. How about a red or blue roof?" ...my car is all black. Why would I need the roof a different color?
He responds "That's what I'd do so this is cool, right?"

So anyway, now I have to reschedule later this month for the roof even though they swore up and down that it would all get done that same day.

The whole thing felt very 'amateurish' to me.
I had them do an oil change, which they did...asked to have the front clips that hold the front fender line up to the lights replaced....which they didn't do and magically disappeared from the work order....and now I have to go back.
Anyone else ever take their car to Wilson Niblett Motors in Richmond Hill?

David, maybe the guy was just trying to be funny but I can see you taking offence. Not very professional on his part.

Good luck with getting the roof sorted out. Does make one appreciate the fact that we have a forum sponsors that we can take our cars to and know our issues will be taken seriously.
