I originally had a TPW of June 6th. Then when BG closed it was updated to mid August. Now with how things are looking I anticipate that it will be a 2021. Just wanted to get some opinions on what do you think Chev is going to do with all of us at event code 3000?

I spoke with the GM at my dealership and he told me that he thinks that we will get 2021’s at the 2020 price. He said that this is what GM did in 2004 following the Tsunami.

I hope your right but I doubt it, GM has lost so much money on this car from lack of production due to the strike/Covid 19 and supposedly losing money on 1LT trims also the the cdn dollar losing value daily can't see them bleeding more $$$ for us northern neighbours

Does anyone know what the price increase is for the 2021 or has it only been announced that there will be one?

I am not sure if the GM meant the 2004 or 2011 tsunami.

Bottom line is that if I am faced with a price increase then my Rapid Blue 1LT with performance exhaust and blue seatbelts will be available.

"As you may know, our CEO, Mary Barra, made an official statement that North American manufacturing facilities have been closed. Previously, we announced the suspension of regular plant operations across North America through March 30. Our CEO has extended that suspension and will continue to evaluate our operating plan going forward. We do not yet have a set reopen date and are awaiting word from the Government that it is safe to reopen. The health and safety of employees, customers, and all those that enter our facilities are GM's top priority. We do not know at this time what the official impact will be to production, BUT prior indicated sequencing of orders is to be adhered to upon completion of our hiatus."

These are questions everyone has. No one knows the answers yet; likely not even GM. I suspect we first need a decision made by the government(s) about COVID. Once that's in place and (for example) Bowling Green can resume production, only then will GM be able to forecast what it's able to do and then announce its plans for 2020, 2021 and pricing. We'll all have to be patient waiting for COVID to play itself out.

I expect GM will likely lose more money by increasing the price for existing C8 buyers, due to cancellations of orders already in place with an already cash-strapped and financially worried customer base, so it'll lean towards maintaining pricing to get those all important sales. But again, this is merely speculation and there are tons of factors that will go into that decision...amongst them being the PR hit GM will face with a price increase after its dedicated C8 fans with existing orders have been anxiously waiting so many months...

Mine is for a convertible and at 3000 status which they hadn't even started building yet before the shutdown. So I would bet it will now be a 2021. My dealership guaranteed me the 2020 price as its not my fault or even theirs that this happened.

Another hint from Concierge.

"We are still unsure how production will be impacted with this closure. GM has not announced if any orders at the 3000 status will move to the 2021 model year. Once GM announces an official production plan for the Corvette, we will be sure to keep customers up-to-date with the most accurate information. "

BTW, I still believe that GM will, when and if production starts reasonably soon, produce everything the way they were going to before the shutdown. So HTC's will be produced 3 weeks into the restart. Of course barring a serious supplier closure etc. That just makes the most sense. No point in fretting. It will be, what will be. ohmmmmm

Wow. Pretty bold move from a dealer not knowing what's going to happen... He might be on the hook for $10k next year. I hope the general manager gave you that in writing.

Yes it was from the general manager and he cleared it with the owner. We come from a smaller town and they have a great reputation. I trust them fully.
I should mention in our neck of the woods your word and your handshake is your bond. Luckily I shook his hand before this pandemic occurred. LOL.

Nice town to live in.... Getting fewer and further between all the time...

In smaller towns if you aren't good and honest you wont last. This dealership has been around I think since 1979 or so. Same with restaurants. If you aren't good you have no business.
