If you have a C8 or promised a min status of 3000, it may be good news for you.
The cdn dollar is at 70 cents. the base cdn price of $70k was at cdn dollar worth 74.5 cents.
You can expect a 2021 increase of at least $10k on base price and maybe more if the Cdn dollarvalue is poor.
GM will shut down all plants for at least a week and this pushes back production and hopefully push 2021 production back accordingly.
Lets hope GM Canada keeps its promise to hold base price to those waiting for delivery and not give an excuse to add `an adder` to offset the virous, or worse, push us back to 2021 model year with the increase.

I was thinking of changing my order for the next iteration, Z06 or hybrid or whatever they might come out with. I’m at 3000 status last I looked TPW was May 4. But as you stated I think the current locked in price might end up being a bargain with likely increased prices for 2021 and change in the CDN $?? However this might be offset by many people dropping out of the C8 market because of whatever reasons. I think I’ll hold onto my order and perhaps be lucky that you might have a limited edition.

Totally speculative on the exchange rate basis ...
When the Canadian Dollar was at par ... prices did not change here.
Buy a Corvette if you want a Corvette and can afford a Corvette.
Now if these were New Boats they are influenced by the exchange rate.
Great time to sell a used Boat ... but you need a buyer.

I'm still at 2000. Ordered 7 months ago. Do you think I will still get my car?

OK all good ... other than perhaps just an apple and an orange,
I now have no idea what you are talking about ... all good

I normally accept most things unexpected as ...
"there is usually a reason" ... and as
there has been so many delays in this process,
if I were full of anxiety over my 2020 C8 order,
and only if the option presented itself,
I would actually embrace re-evaluating for a 2021 model.
Really nothing special other than being able to
drive one right away/ this Summer - which is a drawback.
Perhaps though a better negotiation environment for me
with a Dealer trying to keep my order for the 2021 or having to
surrender a presale and also the deposit I placed (if applicable).

I was making a comparison to the hoarding of toilet paper to the `hoarding` of 2020 C8 (doubtful) and selling at profit.
Like you I`m also worried I wont get my 2020 C8 to drive this summer and worried that I`ll have to pay more for a 2021 delivery.
If my post offends you in anyway , I will delete it.

Oh heck no offence ...
I am actually on a C8 list for 2024 :joyful:

I am content with my C7 in the meantime
and there's a spare C7 next to it that belongs
to the person who sits on the couch beside me
in covid-19 containment -discovered she's quite nice :joyful:

Or just buy a used C8 in a year or so when all the YouTubers and band wagon people are ready to move on to the next hot thing and get it for 20k off. 🤣

A new corvette is not an investment unless you are all about losing money. The depreciation, especially on the first generation year to the 3rd or 4th, is staggering. If you perhaps got SN 001 it could be something to consider as an investment that will likely retain value.

My advice is to squint your eyes and enjoy the hell out of your new C8s because they will be worth a lot less than you may think in a year or two. I lived it with my 13 C6 and both my C7s and all in all have no regrets because I enjoy the cars so much.
As for the 2021 prices... Yes, I would expect some price adjustments but hopefully, nothing drastic as everyone will be feeling the effects of this health crisis except the people making the masks, online porn and food delivery businesses.

Can't see Sn#001 as an investment when he paid $3 000 000 USD for it!

Speculation on investment for future profit is a tricky practice. Just ask the man in Tennessee sitting on 17,000 bottles of hand sanitizer... Numerous complaints in the first day convinced Amazon that up to $ 70.00 per bottle may have been gouging a bit over the top... Serves him right IMO
