Sorry if this has been asked before. Was wondering what was the first car you ever owned and add after ones if you wish.
Mine was a white 1966 Chevelle. My uncle helped me buy it. The seller wanted $500.00 for it and my uncle whittled him down to $450.00. Not even sure if they had safety inspections back then. I was 18 and now 66 closing in on 67 next month. Where did the time go? LOL.
Loved the 66 but I found a bus driver that wanted my car and said he would trade his 1971 Dodge Demon 340 and $2,000.00 cash from me. Big mistake. The Dodge was a money pit. It was fast when it went but something was always breaking on it. After the Dodge I bought a brand new 1974 Corvette. I was in heaven and loved the car. Got a winter beater 1969 Chevelle. Back then they were winter beaters. Now they are a collectors item. Liked the Chevelles and later bought a 1972 350 4 speed. Very quick car and would lay out rubber for as long as you floored it. Since then bought 74 Chevelle. A 78 Camaro Z28, 1982 Trans Am, Blazer 4X4, Toronado, couple of Honda Civics, Honda Prelude, two Honda Accords coupes, Acura RL. Acura CL,Acura NSX, Porsche 911, Tesla Model S, 2019 Corvette and now waiting on the C8. Probably missed a few cars I had in the past. Memory isn't what it used to be, ha ha. Also was into motorcycles and had a lot of them. Currently I have a 2016 Harley Ultra Limited CVO. Very comfortable bike and take it out when ever the weather is nice. My wife enjoys it the most, and we have taken some very nice and sometimes long trips on bikes.

Kerry4 hope you don't mind that I moved your post here. Lots of members heartaches in this thread.

Great write up on your ownership of automobiles and bikes.

My first car was a Austin Healey 3000 with a 327 Chev in it. Death trap! Always like the early Chevelle models, had a 66 as well with a 468" Big Block. Like your Demon it was a money pit.

Not at all. I'm new here so any help I can get is much appreciated. :)

First?

Oldsmobile Cutlass 442, had the ultra-rare factory 5 speed. No picsof my actual car, but it looked like this:

Didn't have it a long time, but was a fun car. Got rid of it when it fired a couple pushrods through the hood.

Followed that up with the car that set me on the Ford path. 1978 Thunderbird. Loved that car. When I had to sell it to help pay for university, I had a C6 and a 460 in it. Not nessesarily fast, but would boil a set of tires off in one go! Great fun for a teenager!Looked like this:

I've still got it's hood ornament on the wall:

It was, is and remains the only car I woudl buy again on the spot, even if it was nothing more than a rusty frame...

My first car was a 1953 Vauxhall Velox that I bought after graduation from high school. I bought it from another student that I was attending tech school pre-apprenticeship program with in 1966. That car was my transition from transit to driving myself.

My second car was a brand new VW Beetle that I bought in 1967.

My third car was my first high performance car a 1969 Cougar XR-7 CJ428 that I drove as a daily driver for 14 years before I sold it to an apprentice working with me and bought a family station wagon.

Through the 1970's I was part of a group of young guys working in a good paying industry taking advantage of provincial economic and industrial expansion and development. Guys I was working with drove an AMC Javelin, Hemi Dodge Charger, Mustang, Cleveland powered Ranchero and one even drove a 1970 454 powered C3 Corvette that I had a ride in at 160 MPH. Oh for the good old days!

After that it was a series mini vans and economy commuter cars until the Corvette came into my life in 2016 re-sparking that desire to drive a performance car.

Here is what the XR-7 looked like only mine was dark Ivy green with white pin stripes and the faux black vinyl top.

Nice rides. Yes it does bring back good memories. Hard to find any Javelins any more. I liked the AMX too.

My 1st ride was a 65 Envoy Special I bought at 15yrs old in '70. The old boy taught me how to drive a manual when I was 11yrs old. I needed $50 because I only had $50, and the car was a hundo. Dad would only finance the $50 if I bought a manual. So I did.
Not in perfect order.....

Wow I'm impressed.Good read. You've owned more vehicles than a car lot dealership. Gixxer fan too. I rode a GSX-R 1000 and a Busa. The 1000 scared the crap out of me. My last sport bike was a modified Kawasaki ZX14. I was the first one in my area to own one back in 2006. When ever I stopped at a Tim Hortons it was like a bike show. Enthusiasts swarmed me asking about the bike. It was a rocket but a bit heavier than the 1000. Not that it wouldn't pop a wheelie in third gear but it was more controlled power that yours.

Kerry..... I've ridden a few ZX14s (I'm a demo ride whore......very little I haven't test rode, but I'm a supersport fan at heart). It never fit me well enough to actually buy one. Old friend said he was 1st to buy one too. He stored it in his living room winter 05-06. He binned it on the Cherohala (3 months in icu / Knoxville, 6 months in Toronto hospitals).
Riding is in my soul. I MISS it. Would trade the Z06 for an FJR1300 (right deal) in a heartbeat. No room for both.

After that 2 more impalas then 1st vette 71 rag then 72 rag. then and now about 10 1/2 tons tried few old fords over the summers 23 t, 41,53, 54 and even now the 53 ,54 , c1 and c7 here .. ran out of room already but always on the hunt. Caretake them for a bit ,them move them on hoping to break even... :Cheers2:

Being the stubborn farm kid, I started my GM tool and die apprenticeship and walked until I could afford my first car, a new, red, 1966 Sport Deluxe Beaumont. About a year and a half later, I traded a guy for a 1966 SD396 4 speed Beaumont and went through a series of musclecars. In 2012, we sold our two 1969 Chevelles and picked up our present 2005 six speed Corvette with 13,300 miles on it. The guy used Q-tips to clean the engine. At less than half of new price, we got a new car and have been thoroughly enjoying it ever since.

My first car was a handed down 1972 Cutlass Supreme.. 350 Rocket (5.7L) .. 4 barrel carb.. automatic.. might still have the best idling rumble of any car I've owned.. The pic attached is from the web, but my car looked just like it..

First car was a 1968 Cougar with a 3 speed standard on the floor. it came with a 302. What I remember most about this car was that the engine fit was so tight that to change the # 3 spark plug you either had to lift the engine or cut a hole through the fender well , which is what I did.
My second car was a 1970 roadrunner that I keep for 30 years and sold for my first boat. It was fully documented and all orginal except for the headers.
Should never of sold it . Wife was not comfortable with not many safety items in it . To buy that car back now is between $60 & 80 K.
I am sure a lot of us have these kind of stories.
