Ok Fellow Vetters ....

What Modifications That You Have Done To Your Corvette ...

Why Did You Do Them ....

And Did It Make A Big Difference After They Were Made ....

Ok, I will bite. It wasn't until I thought about all the mods I did that I realized just how "modded" my vette actually is.

3M clear bra--because the gravel in Alberta is brutal! It has made a difference, and am glad I saved my black paint, even though it is unsightly.

Custom arm rest on consol--I found the OEM pad to be quite hard on my elbow. Was a cheap mod, and the arm is less soar, so I am very happy with it.

LED interior, reverse, and under-hood lighting--I just wanted to update the look. For under 100, this was a great mod. It really brings the look of the interior up to date, and the light in the trunk is way better too.

Exhaust plate--because they look cool, and yes I am glad I did this mod too.

Blackout sidelights--I wish they looked a bit better, but one is cracked, and they didn't fit totally flush. This is my least favourite cosmetic mod, but I haven't gone as far as taking it off, so I must still like it.

Lloyd's Mats with Jake logo--original mats were ratty, and this was a good upgrade. They are thicker and better in every way. Look cool too. Very happy.

Trunk-liner cover--I golf, and this made my clubs invisible. Very useful mod!

Vossen staggered deep-dish rims--tires wore out, and rims make the car. Expensive but a great mod. Larger and wider = better! The wheels look sick, so I love them. I did this mod for no other reason than that I want my vette to stick out--but in a good way. I also slapped on. Hancock tires.....real wide 315s in the rear.

LG long-tube headers--at first I wanted the sound, but thought, why not go faster too. The headers made a small but noticeable difference in power at higher RPMs. Since they are stainless steel, I'm pretty happy with them. After the tune, I gained a nice chunk of horsepower.

Corsa Sport Exhaust--because I wanted to sound a little meaner on the street. Let's face it, the OEM exhaust targets an older, less performance interested crowd. May favourite mod of all, as the downshift sounds awesome--not to mention high-revs and engine starts.

Vararam CAI--a cheap mod that helped to increase the benefit of my headers. Cool look, slightly different sound, and a few more ponies. I like it, and dollar for dollar, the best mod you can get for performance increases IMO.

Window tint--because I have a black car, so you figure it out!

I think this is everything. Next on the list is a suspension upgrade. If I had it my way, I would also consider either new heads or a cam next. We will see..............I'm open to suggestions as to which would go first, but I think the two go hand in hand, no?

My goal is to be faster than stock C6s, but not without dropping supercharging money into the car. I also want my vette to look a little different as well. Not Wal-Mart cheese-ball different, but more like tastefully exotic different. I'm not finished yet, but am getting there.

I save the big engine work, as the car has 100 thousand kilos on it now. I'm better off with a crate engine down the road. Coilovers will make it perform and look better, as I will lower the car a bit. Also on the list are some race-mesh grille of some sort, and I'd like to get a carbon fibre bezel.

Looking forward to hearing about others..........

I installed a column lock eliminator to eliminate any possibility of that problem. Colin (CCO) gave me a good deal on his Vararam intake. Manny's guys installed it and stone guards behind the wheels. I also picked up a set of polished stock rims and tires for a decent price. The car works well enough that I don't have much desire to mess with anything.

I just have a custom tune...... probably gets me up to 650-660 hp....... tail pipes burn cleaner... car comes way too rich from GM

Oh, some CF engine accessories too

Oh, and Ranger clutch fluid flush.... haha

Over the years, we've had quite a few Corvettes..... but lets just speak about the last one....

2007 Triple Black convertible MN6 with Z51

Airaid Intake - improve air flow

Corsa Extreme Cats-back exhaust - you can't be loud enough as far as I am concerned

Z06 Rear spoiler - it looks so much better than the wimpy stock rear spoiler
IMG_0138.jpg

Apsis front and rear high splash guards - when running with "sticky" tires, let's stop rocks from chipping the wheel well paint
IMG_0134.jpg

Stainless Steel Exhaust filler plate - it just looks good, filling that space
IMG_0132.jpg

Polished aluminum Billet front grill - it looks great
Removable Front license plate bracket -front fascia mount - it just looks better, not bolted to the body
IMG_0125.jpg

LG motorsports GT2 Coil-overs - MUCH better cornering and handling and comfortable street driving too,
and the car sits quite a bit lower

Pfadt Adjustable Sway bars - MUCH better cornering

Breathless Performance bolt-in RollBar - provides a little more safety comfort, and (IMHO) looks great
IMG_0154.jpg

LG motorsports World Challenge Wheels (Chrome) 18x10, 19x11 - Wider for better traction and look GREAT

Toyo R888 Tires 285x30x18, 305x30x19 - 2nd best tires for autocross
IMG_0158.jpg

CAGS skip shift eliminator - eliminate the "forced" 1 to 4 shift under certain conditions

Hawk HP Plus Brake pads - better stopping

Motul RBF600 Brake fluid - much higher boiling point (for racing)

Stainless steel braided brake lines - reduce pedal softness under hard braking

Thanks For Sharing .....

Thanks. I can't wait to get a few more odds and ends done to the car, although I am starting to wish I had a C7 now, lol. I think. Lower with a racemesh grille and side vents will really complete the look, and oh yeah, maybe spoilers for the front and rear too.

I never thought of myself as a mod guy, but it seems to be catching on with me, hahaha.
