Seriously, when someone asks if you are a "Corvette Guy", what exactly does that mean to you? The person who recently made this comment to me was someone who was addicted to Porsches working his way up to a gt3, etc. lol. I guess he is a "porsche" guy.

To be honest I am a bit confused... I mean, I don't go around saying, you are a "Nissan guy", or you are a "ford guy", etc.

To me that would be someone who is a long time fan or brand loyalist.

Could apply to any brand / model.

Someone who buy a brand / product for the name independent of whether it’s good bad or indifferent.

Certain brand tends have it more ( Apple, Tesla).

I have heard the term for sure, but so far never been asked if I was a Vette guy. Used to get the question more when I had Stangs

To me ... being a Corvette guy ... or gal .... means anyone that has laid their eyes on a 'Vette ( any year or gen ) and adored it ....

JMO ... but you can label yourself a porsche guy ... mustang guy ... or whatever ... but the Corvette guy is all that matters ;)

And with that and a hundred bucks ... you can partially fill up your prized C? ;)

And just for the record .... I have never owned a pair of New Balance running shoes

To me a Corvette guy is someone who thinks the Corvette is the best car and likely owns one.
I'm a "Chevy guy". I have my reasons, but I've bought Chevy's ever since I drooled over a 1st gen Camaro. Never bought a first gen Camaro, but eventually managed to buy a 4th gen. In my youth, Dodge/Plymouth were cheap and relatively poorly made. Fords weren't much better. GM had the "Fisher bodies" etc. I've always thought the best value was Chevy. So I'm a "Chevy guy".
BUT I'm also a car guy. I admire all performance cars.
But I'm also a "Lady's man"! ;)

December 10, 2019 I went to Basil Chevrolet Depew NY for the C8 Unveiling Event. The 3 Geriatric dudes in the matching maroon Buffalo Corvette Club sweaters are to me, the epitome of a "Corvette Guy"...

You put on a little weight! ;)

Corvette guy definition: Wearing a black T-shirt with a large cartoon logo of a Vette spinning wheels on back, and small logo on front. That is the typical uniform. Usually found at car shows and coffee meets.

Even when they graduate to a C8 from their C3. If you do not have that T-shirt, you are not in the club. Sorry buddy, LOL!

Me-yau!

Hi Guys. I have been lurking for years since getting my C8. Such an interesting question lead to officially joining the forum!

First off, I don't think being called a "Corvette Guy" is a compliment. To most people; Its a guy that has a large portion of his identity wrapped up in his car who believes he is entitled to special recognition and treatment because of it. He often exhibits the characteristics that have already been pointed out along with being super anal and demanding. Of course, this will not be true for the majority of Corvette owners, but the public has strong preconceived notions that have come from many experiences over many years with this minority stereotypical owner.

The good news is the C8 owners that I have met are a different breed. But unfortunately, the stereotype is strong and will be cast upon us all.

PS If you take your C8 through an automatic wash you are definetly NOT a "Corvette Guy" :)
