Well the cars are slowly being stored away for winter. However, at least in Southern Ontario it was a summer to remember, just beautiful. Even the fall was spectacular for cruising.

So if you could pick out a highlight what would it be?

For me it was Stan's (Zeeman 28a) first run to Niagara Falls. We had a great run but the drive down the Niagara Parkway through the Falls was like a riding through a carnival. Thousands of people stood and watched the cars go by, many with their cameras rolling. It was a thrill. A great day with some really nice Corvette enthusiasts. Just part of what makes our enthusiasm for these cars and people so enjoyable.

Agreed Rob that was a great day with our fellow Corvette owners. For me it was nice to meet many of the members on this forum and to see you again Rob. We need to work on the "Day at Doug's" again next year.

I honestly don't think I could ever compare to what myself and Karen pulled off this summer in the Vette...but...the moment I laid eyes on the car the first time after just under a year of waiting and all the things that came along with that waiting. Looking back, I think to myself how I truly never believed this purchase was ever going to be completed. From total loss in confidence with no word while waiting for the allocation to be picked up, to buying from a dealer in Quebec who spoke no English, to having a potential buyer, also in Quebec City, trying his best to buy from under me through the dealer, to GM telling me the car might not get built after it went to 3000 because of supplier rim restriction right through to meeting the guy who wanted to buy that car from under me in the dealership during pickup with cash in hand, everything seemed to have worked out for me for the first time ever.

I still can't believe a dealer I never met, in Quebec much less, turned down tens of thousands of dollars extra above MSRP being offered by a local buyer, simply because he committed his sale to a guy outside his province and City, who he couldn't speak to unless it was through Google Translate, and never met.

My face hurt from smiling so hard after the first 10 minutes in that dealership...

Awesome story Les. It seems like your car would NEVER come!!!! Then almost all of a suddenly, you have it, and it looks great.

For me, the highlight would be Ponoka. Always a great event and even better this year with all the food! It was definitely a great summer.

We had some great weather out this way this year..It was the first full summer with our 2003 Convert.
We sure had some great trips thru the Rockies and the BC Interior.
I also got out in the '75 Coupe a bunch.. I've owned this car for 33+ years and I still have a big grin when I get in it.
My wife wanted to sell the C3 when we got the C5 but she saw during the big Langley Cruise-In weekend here how much that car means to me.

But the best of the summer was following Les' adventures in his new Z06/07.. A lot of us lived thru your pictures and posts.
It was struggle to get it but you sure did it right.
I love that you(Les) got out there and did the bucket list cruise around the continent.
That's in the plans for us soon.

We all have a great hobby here that takes us to places and we get to meet new friends.
I'm going to try for Ponoka next Spring..

Nothing and I mean nothing better than that Colin.

Well.... Ponoka meet for sure was a stand out... first meet and greet... first time saw that many sweet corvettes in one place....first time one of them was mine :Hurray:.... and meeting the entire group of first class people as well... Then came the splendiferous 8 day, 4000+ km Wyoming/Montana trip with my baby and my honey.... Then to top it off, taking delivery of my new C7 at the end of the season.... Damn.... I am looking forward to next year... :Woohoo:

a picture is worth a thousand words.

For me, it would be going to teh Ron Fellows School in Nevada and learning how to really drive this car and what it is capable of.

WAS A BLAST!

In the process of selling a domain name and going to use the funds to go back with my wife for level 2!

Like Les, for me this was a great summer simply by virtue of having taken possession of this great car. When Owais sent me the picture below, I realized that my dream of one day owning a sports car was finally coming to fruition. And who could have known that this was a car that was attainable sooner than I had expected at such a high performance level. In addition, I had no idea of the community that existed around this car. The cruises have been fantastic and the camaraderie and inclusiveness of everyone I have met has been real bonus. Finally, the one specific moment that sticks out: my son and I are fiddling with the exhaust settings because it doesn't sound quite right. We realize that the default setting is Tour. We select 'Link to drive mode', switch it to Track and open it up. The V8 roar and burble comes alive and two of us are giggling like teenage girls at a Justin Bieber concert.
