VIN code reports

Before I spend anything on this, can anyone recommend a website for the most complete/honest/thorough report?
I'd like to know about the first 22 years of my Corvette's life.

Used Carfax once years ago but only for a lien and accident report. Told me where and when it was purchased, the owner (one owner car), where it was registered, clear title and no accidents. I think there was more it would have told me if I'd paid for the extras.
