Tony Stewart and Earl Ross

A grand jury today cleared Tony Stewart in the death of sprint car driver Kevin Ward. Ward apparently was under the influence of marijuana at the time of his death. Still a troubling death but running onto a live track is a recipe for disaster.

Canadian stock car legend Earl Ross of Ailsa Craig, Ontario was laid to rest today. Ross is the only Canadian to have won a NASCAR Winston Cup Race, the equivalent of the current Sprint Cup series.

Rest in Peace Earl Ross, you were a great racer and person.

It's a shame that Kevin Ward had to die -- nobody deserves that.... Glad that Tony Stewart has been cleared of any wrongdoing.

I didn't know Earl Ross until I googled his name and read about him. Seems he was quite accomplished and did us Canadians real proud.

Wow. I used to live in Ailsa Craig and am saddened to hear about Earl. Nice fellow and a heck of a driver.
