Free claim. $500.00 deductible. Cost high because the R (racing) pkg. was an expensive option and I have to replace a tiny portion of the decal; but, have to buy the whole decal - $700.00 - ouch. So, I've decided to just pay it!! Make sense to do that in case something really bad happens?Ouch. One factor is your deductible; if it's high (ie. $1,000) then it's a no-brainer and you should pay for it w/o making an insurance claim. But if it's only $250, I'd suggest contacting your insurance company and asking how much your premium increase will be and for how long, if you make that claim. And then there's the question of whether your insurer gives you "one free claim" meaning there's no premium increase if you've only got the one claim within (for example) a 5 year time span. If that applies to you, you'll have to decide if you "use up" your one free claim on this little one.
So it's hard to answer your question w/o knowing more about your circumstances and even then, it's of course your call. Good luck!
Is there more damage than just the picture you posted? Where's the decal that got damaged?Free claim. $500.00 deductible. Yes for sure. Very minor scuff. An insurance claim will also likely end up on Car Fax as well, leading to other resale issues.
Just what I did. Picked it up yesterday. So happy to drive it again. Paint match looks perfect.Damn, just damn. I would go out of pocket if it were my decision.
Good to hear. Never did say how it happened. Inquiring minds need to know...Yes for sure. Very minor scuff.

Something does not add up. You are not a high risk driver if you were not the cause of these accidents. Your only claim was a rear window. No reason you should be denied insurance, and not even a reason to raise your premium. What company was this?First year: A monk rear ended me at a red light.
2nd year: Car was parked in the street and a drunk driver lost control and hit my car.
3rd year: Back window blew up in a hot summer (maybe from one of the previous accidents).
4th year: Insurance sent me a letter denying to insured me anymore.
I was thinking like you that those accidents was 100% not my fault and It should not matters but I was wrong: insurance works on statistics and categorize you as high risk for multiple of claims in a short period of time. It goes the same for tickets so remember that accidents/claims (at fault or no fault) are on your record for minimum 5 years and tickets for 3 years. Insurance will look for any excuses to raise your premium if you do not have a clean record (no accidents and no tickets) and that is a fact so always contest your speeding tickets even if the cops reduced it.Something does not add up. So WHO your insurance company?. Yes, I asked the member that because supposedly they were denied insurance after having 1 broken window claim. It would be beneficial to find out what insurance companies denied insurance and/or a copy of the letter denying insurance. So WHO your insurance company?. They are not all like that.
