Tail of the Dragon, Cherohala Skyway, Moonshiner 28 and The Smokey Mountain Parkway. A worthwhile and great road trip to Tennessee/North Carolina area. Just back with 3k km’s more on the odometer! The C8 was made for these roads and handled the roads beautifully, and was more than comfortable for the ride there and back.

I haven't been down to the gap in about 20 years, but have fond memories of setting off fireworks at the lookout in the middle of the night!

15 hours is a heck of long drive, and there are equally as nice roads in upper state New York around Lake Placid. But for those who haven't made the pilgrimage, it's worth the trip at least once.

I hear you on the long drive part (about 12 hours from Toronto). Lexington, KY is a good rest stop to break it up. I’ve heard the same re Upstate NY, and I’ve been to Watkins Glen, Lake Placid, and White Mountain (among other places) and have yet to find roads close to these, and the camaraderie of the other gearheads who drive there. To each their own….it was my 5th time there with a third different car! Nothing like it in North America.

Had my Kawasaki ZX14 down to the Gap years ago. Even passed a Vette with it. LOL.
