Just going to give a piece of advice here. I was planning on dropping my rear end a couple years ago to clean out the diff and maybe change out the U-joints. I'd say the hardest thing about this project is going to be that the diff cover is bolted to a cross member that goes across the back. Both have to be removed at once. Apparently it's quite heavy and you need a special separator or I guess a big crowbar might work. It not a huge problem and I'm sure you can tackle it but just thought I'd let you know before you dug into it.

I have been working on cars for a long time. Front wheel drive most of them but I am sure I will be fine doing the repairs. My father in law is a licensed mechanic and If I get myself into trouble I am sure I can ask him for help. I will post updates with pictures while doing the repairs to show you where I am at. The first thing I did so far was to remove the spare tire and tomorrow I will remove the space tire cover.. :)
