I agree. I decided to wait and order custom wheels later but got many complements on the stock wheels (some thought they were aftermarket) so I am saving money.

I wonder what percentage of C8s leave the factory with the stock wheel rims. Most of the ones I see on Autotrader have black wheels. Not being a fan of black, mine will come with the stock wheel rims, they look good to me.
I'm a basic 5 spoke kind of guy so I chose the stock looking wheels, but with all the black accents on the car I think the black wheels look good. Personally I think GM could have done a lot better with the wheel choices, but I didn't want to have to bother with aftermarket wheels. I do like the Z06 stock wheels though.
So when I went to buy a CRV in 2017 I asked about the red and/or blue wheel rings I had seen and was told by the salespeople that fad lasted for a few years but was now dead. In 2017. GM is about 5 years too late.
Is this better? Most of the membership will have a coronary lol...
Looks like great fun but only for the brave.
It's not the snow/salt that worries me most. It's being out with all the folks that think they are just fine on bald summer tires driving 30kms faster than they know what to do with.
