Good afternoon,

While whiling away some time before I have to get out, I was wondering if anyone had every sorted out through the endless number of aftermaket seat manufactures for repalcement or upgraded seats for their (C6) Corvette.

Within the forum membership, is their concensus as to a preferred brand/model?

I find my seats to be comfortable, I never experienced a moment of discomfort on the 1500 km drive from Vancouver but the seat is not the most "grippy" and I find that I move/slide around.

Now I'm expecting with my slightly (!) leaner frame size this spring when I come to get the car this will be more pronounced.

Not looking to dump crazy $ but what have you found to be good choices or have most of you kept the original seats?

if you're not into replacing the complete seat;[ $$$] what you might consider
is a neoprene seat cover.
These give you more comfort, stop the sliding around on the leather and, in the hot
summer, absorb some of the heat from the sun, so making for a cooler ride.
I know Colin has them on his '11 coupe, and I have them for my '13 conv.

Hi Gary, you might want to get them now from Corvette Centrall with their free shipping promo.I just ordered the neoprene two tone colour ones and they are $229. Can't wait till they get here.They also come with an eight of an inch soft cushion underlay on the back side. And that way the leather is not exposed and might keep it's look etc. a lot longer.

Hey Garry -- I was just prompted by our friend Tony as to your querry -- I somehow missed it yesterday.......

The neoprene covers are very comfortable and effective -- I highly recommend them. I too found the seats themselves supportive enough for me but not grippy at all. Let me assure you the neoprene rectifies this issue tout suite. They are also somewhat insulating from hot and cold for further comfort of the posterior region.
I was put onto them by our friend Tony whom traded his red coloured car with the corresponding red covers for the velocity yellow car needing yellow covers. (Thanks Tony. you're a keeper.:D)

To my mind a good and money saving investment for you rather than new seats and all that expense.

I believe I have pictures somewhere if you need.

Well that sure sounds like a cost effective means to brighten the interior. And even more interesting like something that might be in my skill set in terms of being able to install as well! I need a moral boost after the thrown code on the Snake Charmer let me say!

That is what I like about this site. As a newbie, I can post a question that some of you veteran drivers have previous faced and have arrived at working solutions for. Saves fellows like me a lot of legwork and possible repeating errors.

I sure hope that I get to do some of the plastic as well.

3rd railcar getting loaded today. Previous results in. One car #2 with 13.3% protein but the second was #2 tough with 13.4% protein. To show how sensitive this is, the tought #2 might end up being $1500 less net. I could have done a lot of additional work with $1500.........

So I hope that in 2 weeks I'll get results of the 3rd car - may it be dry!

Good luck with the loading -- I'm sure all here wish you well with your crops. Paying for all these mods doesn't come cheap.....:D

Tony has the lowdown on pricing when you decide to order. I believe he got in on a sale price not long ago so you might want to talk to him also when the time comes.
He's had some experience with ordering these covers having bought 2 sets that I know of in recent times.
Actually I believe he bought that last set from Corvette Central who just happen to have free shipping right now.

Out of curiosity, were the door sills you used also from CC as well? They have some Z06 logo'ed ones that I was considering to reduce scuffing but they are not the full length of the sills. Are yours like those??

Hi Garry,
I thought I had pics of the sills installed but here's one of them b4 install -- Mine are carbon fiber and easily installed once the old ones come off. If memory serves mine came from Corvette Mods in Texas.
The sills I have are made slightly larger than the OEM sills
I looked at the Corvette Central sills and can't tell if they're Carbon F. tho they do look the same size.
I also have scuff plates for the bottom of the doors which are stainless.

They do look about the same size now that I see them installed from a different angle. And might I add they do look nice as well. I may have to consider getting something like that.

Are the scuff plates on the underside of the door or on the bottom facing the passenger/driver?? These areas get hit too especially by my son when he is fidgiting.......

Making up my shopping list. My son doesn't like any of these things but figures it could use a new steering wheel - $500, I don't think so........not yet anyway.

Thanks Garry -- they are a nice touch for a boring black interior.(as are the red covers I have)

The SS scuff plates on the bottom of the doors face the driver and passenger and extend about 3" from the bottom as well as side to side full door width. They protect from scuffs on entering and exiting.
Those I don't have a pic of.

Your son will like all the mods when he sees them installed. They do have a 'cool' factor.:D

Good afternoon Colin,

I must agree with you wholeheartly. The black interior is one and perhaps the only quality of this car that I don't care for. It is so dark, gets so hot when sitting in the sun and does not make one feel bright and cheery when they are getting inside. Thankfully when you hit the start button that really disappears..........

But a bit of color/bling would really go a long way to making it a happier place to be spending time.

Have to wait for the grain cheque to arrive to see if I can shave a few sheckles out of it that are not required for cropping expenses this year.

It would be nice not to have the interior taking a beating from shoes for sure.

Off to go swimming with my son. I like the non-stressful water resistence and is a fun time for us both.

I highly recommend them and can hardly wait to get them on the car. Free delivery was also nice, for once I din't have to hand any money over to UPS.

Now you have me interested in these seat covers ... Lets see some pics of them on , or even off the car !

By the look of the leather on my seats ,. the previous owner spent more time getting in and out of the car than he did driving it !:canada:

Wow do those ever look nice! And of course you have to post a picture of yellow ones don't you........getting a commission from CC perhaps?

Did you ever consider getting anything embroidered onto them??

It would be nice to cover up that sport wearing on the drivers outside upper seat bolster. Or maybe I need to practice getting in and out more often.

I'm just waiting for my paycheque to arrive before going shopping.......

OK ..... now you guys have me looking at these things, and yes, CC does have them for the C4 seats as well.......and in two tone yellow and black. .. But no cut outs for the power controls. Guess I could work around that. I will have to have a good look at your's sometime.
