Thanks to “Tool Hoarder” for first raising this question. Knowing that Ed Welburn was the lead designer on the 2009 Stingray concept, that Ed is known for his resurrecting some Corvette past patterns and components, and that the first year mid engine was completed on Ed’s watch...., these three pictures might be useful.

Ed is the master of nicely bringing back earlier design cues and/or repeating new features in different parts of the car. I remember at the C7’s reveal that we all saw the hundreds of C7’s emblems on on top of the coupe’s window, and then a “Eureka” moment when one person not far from me spotted the single C7 emblem in its headlights. And then the crowd converged on the headlights.

Wonder what the C8’s special cues will be (in addition to the Stingray tail on the seat)?
