If your Badlyworn, you rig up a hand control. :D

Brad and I were on our way to the cruise night in Wiarton tonight in his '89 when the throttle cable broke while driving down the highway. Luckily the cruise control still worked so we were able to make it to a gas station in Hepworth where he was able to buy some duct tape and borrow a pair of pliers. A young guy working the till was able to find us an old bicycle shifter cable and we were able to rig up a hand throttle so we could get the car home. Always an adventure travelling with you Brad.

I should add that we drove on to the cruise night without a hitch and made it home just fine. We weren't going to let a little problem like that hold us back. We couldn't believe our luck when the kid found the bike cable!

Inventive and creative, guys -- kudos for sure. Tell Brad I have a C4 on the way and would like to see his this summer,

Yeah, I think we deserve to get the redneck award for that one. I still can't believe our luck.

Back in the late '60s when the throttle cable broke on my Austin Mini on a Sunday in the middle of nowhere (in the Winter)... my friend and I removed the hood and he sat on the fender and worked the throttle with his hand while I steered and changed gears to get us back home... about 20 miles!
