For those of us with Sirius radio subscriptions... just a reminder that you can suspend your service for either 3 or 6 months. Just call to cancel, but inform the CSR that you wish to suspend.
However, it's important to note that you MUST renegotiate your package BEFORE the suspension period is up, or they will auto-renew you at that highest rate. Yes.
They will issue you a credit upon suspending, and you can apply that to your renewal when you reactivate in the spring.

Real good to know for those who subscribe to the "subscription game".

Sirius XM and Onstar (with scare-tactic :WillyNilly: selling) have become the most annoying attributes of my buying 5 new vehicles and a new Boat in the past 4 years. Rather difficult to remove from unwanted telephone sales and electronic & letter mailboxes ... ever notice how the subscription price goes down the longer you hold out and you can't use the offer for all your vehicles.
Don't get me wrong though ... tried it for a year ... enjoyed the heck out of the AC/DC channel until they got rid of it ... tried out the OnStar turn-by-turn introductory offer only to have the millenial tell me the destination I've enjoyed for my lifetime appears to not exist :Wideyed: ... so screw it :Rage: ... Apple Car Play Maps and iTunes gift cards ... (along with a teen-tech support in the house - the most costly part :greedy: ) along with just dealing with a family shared mobility subscription does the trick ...
... oh my this years early "sn-october" hibernation has me appearing rather grumpy already :Shifty:

I’ve had ONSTAR for many years.
They usually put my account on-hold during the winter months..no charge.
So one year of ONSTAR really lasts me two years.
I find them the best in customer service.

I asked SIRIUS to do that last year and they said they can put it on hold but they charge $5/month for that service? So now I just buy 6 mos at a time.

My renwal ($265) came earlier this month for my daily driver.
The 3 months free in the C7 ends in Dec.
On the phone for ~45 minutes, inc wait time, with retentions.
She suggested calling to suspend the car in the winter to save a bit. I asked for a price that I could live with, and not have to bother calling too often. I moaned, and groaned, and hummed and hawed......(that's why it took so long).
Bottom line, I got Sirius in both for a yr, $78 for the truck, and $45 for the car, plus tax and fees.
I've done this every yr for the past 8, and it works.

gotta try that one , i just called to cancel last month, they charged me 40.00 cancelling and with some wineing got that removed .. at if i could get 78 and 45 would just leave

I heard from other users that Sirius seems to have different rules for different people. I've never been charged a fee to suspend my service (this is my 3rd year doing it). With Sirius, you can pull up your account history online, and show them that you've done this before. Also, when renegotiating the price each spring, they know that I have an online history of what I've been willing to pay, so it's easy to negotiate last year's rate or less.

You are right. Although unrelated Sirus and Onstar both negotiate deals. It’s a bit of effort but yes if you speak to them annually they will definitely make it worth your time.
I have 6 Sirus radios active and have a real hard time with the online account management. Not once so far have they been able to properly group them all on a single account accessible through the website log in. It’s a bit frustrating but in the end it works out pretty good yearly. Just have to be willing to give up that hour on the phone with them in the spring. 😂

Their current online program allows you to assign a nickname each account, so each of my accounts is named after the car itself. When I called to suspend service, the CSR said "I'm guessing that your suspending service on your Corvette". This is a relatively new feature, but it might help you sort out your multiple accounts.

Hey thanks for the info. I’ll give it another go. 👍

Well, another year, another large renewal bill from Sirius XM.
2 x $265.
I called the 800 line. I instantly got a hundo off each one. I said "it's still too much".
He transferred me to the 'loyalty' dept, aka retentions.
Dude said "$87 each, for a year".
I said "Sign me up."
And....it's a good day when I only have to spend less than 10 mins on the blower with this stuff.
(took me over an hr with bell fibe...similar results.)
